Plod and the Army (although not the MoD yet) are investigating, apparently http://www.scotsman.com/news/scotla...cused-of-sectarian-singing-at-ibrox-1-3118541
Here's the weird bit. If any of the individual squaddies on the pitch get done or lose their jobs, doesn't that seem a bit harsh on them individually? I mean, they're Rangers fans on the pitch at half time - what else are they going to do but join in with whatever the crowd are singing? It's a ****ing mess. I found the video a well queasy watch and it made me deeply uncomfortable - the idea being banded about is if a wee guy can get the jail for singing Roll of Honour (whatever you think the rights and wrongs of that is), then surely guys singing Father's Advice whilst on duty and on the pitch are subject to the same scrutiny? BUT, I don't think it's the fault of the individual squaddies (the mongs that held that scarf apart) and I actually hope none of them get into trouble. The bit I don't like and what I would like to see censured is that "if you don't like it, go live somewhere else" attitude that Andrew Dickson displayed. I don't think you can hang any of these guys out to dry without taking that ****ing dobber to task.
They got caught up in (Horrible) the atmosphere Bib (Scarf holders aside) and I agree with you, I don't see how they can identify individual men/women and punish them for crass ignorance or rank stupidity, someone at the top should shoulder the blame, General Eeles I suspect.
I don't think so. I don't see how their positions are tenable to be honest. Not join in. Wee guy is liable to prosecution under offensive behaviour at the football Act. That is a nonsense. Dumb **** squaddie is also liable to prosecution under offensive behaviour at the football Act. This is a nonsense too.... However dumb **** squaddie is in uniform. He is at work and therefore responsible for upholding the reputation of the armed forces. If they cannot do that, then they should face the consequences.n They are responsible enough to hold a gun, they are responsible enough not to act lthe ****. that guy is employed by new Rangers isn't he?.... Says a lot about that two bob shower of spastics.
You Tube is hoachin with them, link to one is also on Medro's (Armed Forces) thread on the Gers board. I'm feeling helpful though so here:
I honestly don't think it's that bad looking at that. Couldn't really see if any of them were signing along. Few people clapping along but who's to say they knew what was being sung? I'd feel sorry for them if that was the case and they were reprimanded.
I doubt any of them are fans of any other club or they would not have taken up the invite to Ibrox, and It may well be that they did not know what they were clapping along to but I find that hard to believe. When Bobby Sands' name was getting sung I don't see any of them stopping, some of them did scarper off the pitch. They were Scottish Soldiers do you honestly think none of them knew what Derry's walls was about or the Sash? Come on Nev.
Aye. ALL the squaddies on the pitch are Rangers fans and what else could they do but join in (as you put it). You really are a hateful wee person and I consider you dismissed.

I've been out the country for the past few days so I'm not up to speed with the going-ons thus far, but to clarify... Soldiers employed by Her Maj to kill terrorists, are singing about dead terrorists? Is this the hoo-ha that the over-zealous meeja are now reporting as 'news'. I agree that these songs are dire, but some of you must lead such a horrific existence if these is what gets your panties in a knot.
Whiiittt?? You feel the same about Aldo, then? It was him who first suggested (and I reckon he was right) that the guys got the choice and were probably all Rangers fans.
Police officers are now employed and directed to kill criminals? No wonder you got thrown out the force
**** sake I thought we got over this Scotslaw blog? REALLY? <somuchforsensibletimmynotquotingretards>
