Evening all from very mild bandit country...looks like Barnet are in trouble http://www.iharrow.com/council/barn...orcement-notice-for-breaching-planning-rules/
Seems as if the residents didn't want it there in the first place and have grabbed the chance to have a go. So far the club have not offered a reason for building it as they have.

A little learning can cause a lot of damage. ?
Thanks for the caramel latte Ak, the number of people that won't fit into the Vic may not like football anyway! Problem solved!
Morning all, 17°C out there at present with a high of 24°C this afternoon. My French neighbour has come to the conclusion that it is cold enough to put a coat on over his jumper.
A tadge cooler in Bushey, in Glorious SW Herts, max 16/17c expected. Got my Flu jab today, the surgery are doing 2 min appointments, mine is at 1316
Come on AK keep up, I have been doing this in The Nest on the 1st day on the month for years, even back in the 606 days...but here we go, These are old fashioned sayings that are said on the 1st day of the month..I have no idea why Rabbits, Rabbits, Rabbits - but my old mum always said it and if it was good enough for her! (I am sure one of the clever one's on here gave an explanation one month)..the other is a rhyme.. A pinch and a punch The first day of the month...
Our family has always said, "white rabbits, white rabbits, white rabbits" on the first of each month! No idea why, or what difference it would make if we didn't say it!

When I can.
I've always taken the white rabbits was only supposed to be said on 1st of the month that Easter Sunday is in. I've never been told that, it's just that was the only month it was ever mentioned in our house as I was growing up.
I have just discovered that there is a debate going on in Herts about switching off street lighting late at night to save money. My friends in South Africa run a company that manufactures energy efficient street lighting. They use about 60% of the power of normal lights. If anyone has contacts with the council or local politicians I would like to be able to pass on those contact details. Contact me off-thread, if you like.
