It's pretty rare to see a Norwich side press the opposition high up the pitch in the way we did for long periods yesterday. I hope he keeps the same midfield set up but I don't think he will for Chelsea's visit. I imagine Howson may well be sacrificed for Bradders?
4-5-1 with 3 DMs, sacrificing our match-winner of the previous week? Can't see it myself. I think we'll keep things mostly the same, but Bassong and Hooper could potentially come in.
Forgive my ignorance, but isn't Howson seen more as a attacking option?, won't CH want to play defensively against Chelsea?
That was my point, and why I think Howson may be the unlucky one to miss out. And please, CH, don't ask him to play as a holding midfielder as we've all seen before that it's not his strongest suit
Problem with 3 DMs is that you have no options to attack and hold on to the ball, thereby making defending more difficult
For the sake of argument, say Bassong is fit for the Chelsea game. Who do you play? I'd be tempted to go with Bennett and Bassong.
I'd go with the same choice. Turner on his day can be colossal, but I think Bassong and Bennett have a lot more to their game.
I think you could play the same midfield as the Stoke game. Hughton will just ask Fer to sit back alongside Tettey rather than pushing forward with Howson.
It'd be more defensive, but as Longsight points out, you need some form of attack otherwise you're just inviting pressure. With a midfield of Fer, Johnson and Tettey, your striker is going to be left very, very isolated, and from crosses we'd almost never get a second body in the box. I think Fer could be told to sit more, rather than having the same license to move forward as he did against Stoke, but I'd keep Howson to at least give RvW some support. After the performance the three of them put in at Stoke, dropping any would be harsh. Also agree that I'd like a Bassong-Bennett partnership, and I can certainly see that being our first choice line-up by the end of the season. Also, apparently some of our fans were chanting "You have to live here, we get to go home" to the Stoke fans. Love it.
