Looks like he is back to his best, as he knows he can't have games of being 'not interested' with NR and JM waiting to take over. On another note - I see paddy's been 'burning the midnight oil!!!! - http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwic..._enlightenment_begins_at_stoke_city_1_2823966 http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwic...key_to_stoke_premier_league_success_1_2823964 Yes the midfield looked far more composed yesterday and BJ could struggle to get back into the starting 11.
Agreed. He showed urgency and good movement that went 'missing' on several occasions last season. Frequently popping up on the right hand side, too, he caused Stoke all manner of problems. Bear in mind, we've STILL not seen what I'd imagine would be a first choice eleven, with Bassong out yesterday, and Hooper 'rested' after 120 minutes midweek. That augurs well!
I absolutely slated Tettey after the Watford game and it was good to see him make massive improvements yesterday. The thing is, I think he can sometimes appear to be having a better game than he actually is because he is often out of position when we're defending. This results in him having to cover a lot of ground quickly in order to pick up a man, and makes him appear to be working hard and putting in a good shift. I guess it's useful that he has good stamina and pace in order to close players down though.
How good was Ryan Bennett yesterday!!! He really has picked up where he left off at the end of last season. Completely dominant yesterday!! Howson was also very good I thought, always looked positive, made some good drives forward in the first half and was willing to shoot from range (something we miss when he isnt in the team)
Completely agree with that, they were fantastic. TBH we were lucky not have got a second goal, How about Snodgrass?, I thought he improve a bit since the Villa game but some of his crosses were a bit ropey!
I really like Snodgrass so I have held back from bashing him, because I know he will come back to form. He did look better yesterday in spells, still not up to his usual standard. But I really noticed how often he was falling over yesterday, more than other weeks, and that annoyed me a bit. He did have a good couple of shots towards the end though, the second in particular would have been a nice goal.
Squawka seem to be doing some half decent performance reviews - new to me but I'm enjoying them: http://squawka.com/news/2013/09/30/...htons-men-get-a-vital-away-win/2013093023213? Their 'Performance Score' indicator is interesting, although I'm not exactly clear on how they come to calculate it (probably because I haven't properly looked into it).
I've read these this season and completely agree about the 'Performance Score' - it's interesting because I have no idea how it is measured.
Found the page that explains it. I'll give it a read later. http://www.squawka.com/what-is-the-squawka-player-performance-rating FAO Robbie - try not to get too aroused!
Bonkers. So complex it's difficult to assess how it works, but I've no idea how many people it must take to measure this just for a Norwich-Stoke game...
So predictions for the Chelsea game, I'm actually really looking forward to it. We will lose but hopefully we can get a goal.
I think we stand a chance of a draw, but It won't be like Stoke, Chelsea won't give us the same space as they did.
