I have a couple of friends who are Chelsea supporters and they are gutted that we got Sturridge ( and they got Torres) and I like to remind them of it whenever I can! Strangely enough I was totally underwhelmed when we signed him because I didn't think he had the right attitude..what do I knw?
He didn't play in his natural position, and didn't have his greatest game, but still ran his socks off - which as you say ended up leaving space for the goal. IMO we have to play him, just change formation to accommodate like others have pointed out. It's often his tracking back, movement off the ball etc that goes unnoticed, Like I said he allows the other to do the fancy stuff. I agree with some people though, that depending on the opposition he could be dropped to the bench - but the same applies to nearly the whole starting 11.
No need for the insults - hit a nerve?? You can't surely say you've never seen Ibe play....that's screams part-timer to me
You said you've never seen him play? I've seen him many, many times. In all types of games, including competitive matches
He started against QPR at the end of last season, got the assist for Coutinho's goal. Also played in the league cup against Notts County this season. Played in most of our pre-season matches this year.
Can't quite believe Hendo's got some stick after this game. Sure, his crossing was absolutely bloody awful but he ran his socks off and got involved from a unfamiliar position that involves a hell of a lot of running (yet he still did more than expected). I certain some people think players only play well if they get an assist, goal or a couple of great tackles / interceptions
