Be interesting if we play well second half. This is the first game were we have been 2-0 up at halftime. Hopefully we can play more relaxed football as we have the 2 goal cushion and won't be worried about losing a goal
Still not happy with the formation but happy with the goals, lets just see if we can get a grip in the 2nd half Gerrard and Lucas are bossing the area in front of the back 4 but need someone ahead of them to mix it up a bit.
What you on about? Think you may be attributing all negative comments to me mate. I've posted 2: Only negative things I've said is we went through an aimless hoofing phase. We did. And Mignolet looked jittery, he did. Other than that I've expressed happiness at being 2-0 up. Applauded our second goal, and appreciated a hell of a save by a keeper not having his best day. That ok mate? am I allowed to keep posting?
Easily. And if we stink out the second half and still win I'm sure that will gloss over all the problems with this system.
I think we are defending against them well enough, they are having a lot of the ball without causing us any real problems. We are causing problems for them when we attack I'd say we deserve the lead.
Gerrard's not having a good game overall, but at least his long passing is in gear. That alone is worth a spot in the team, despite the nay sayers. We've not exactly been on song, but we've taken our chances. Webb and his linesmen aren't having a good game. Studge's goal was knocked in by his upper arm (accidentally), a few offsides against Plunderland not given and countless times our players have been held back and nothing given - never mind Lucas's 'foul' when he won the ball. Scrappy game, but at least we've got a 2 goal cushion.
Glen Johnson on twitter Glen Johnson ‏@glen_johnson 5m Got to be happy with 2 nil at half time. First goal maybe handball but even still it would only even out the beach ball incident #3PointsPlz
Lets not have any in fighting fellas we are 2-0 up. If you don't agree with a comment try to keep your reply polite.
Not a classic Liverpool performance but feck it, probably not deserved either but being outplayed and winning speaks volumes.
Sunderland have been the better side but we've scored two. Whats it mean if you play bad and win again?
Fair enough mate, it wasn't just you I know, you were just unfortunate that it was your comment I quoted. Its just pissing me off that we are 2-0 up away at Sunderland and people are still complaining about the performance. The same people who were probably complaining last season about great performances not getting the wins they deserved and the need to score goals and grind wins up. We will be 2nd if things stay the same yet people still finding reasons to complain? Just doesn't make sense to me.
All successful teams have the ability to play badly, but still win by taking the few chances they create , all be it against the run of play. How many games have we dominated in the past and come away with nothing?
