    Now they have Comolli in charge of negotiations, that won't be happening anytime soon.

    I'm still baffled how Joe Cole can spend years sitting on the Chelsea bench for £80k per week, yet have the nerve to increase his wage demands by an extra £20k when his contract was up. I'm less surprised that both North London clubs told him to sod off, though...

    Cole is either stupid or a knob, probably both.

    What that table proves is what we've known all along - that certain clubs are only where they are because they've bribed players with uncompetitive wages.

    Its not bribing to pay someone a lot, but I guess it does get rid of competition.

    I wouldn't think they were far off appearing on it

    3.8M = 73K per week

    A maximum wage of 50k a week would sort out many problems in football.

    It would stop the mega rich billionaires coming in and buying success and players would still earn enough to be have hair transplants and have serious gambling problems.

    I know Luke, just wishful thinking on my part.

    Money is ruining football.

    A wage cap would be ideal but would be almost impossible to implement, in my opinion.
    Footballers and the corrupt so-and-so's at FIFA would throw hissy fits at no longer having £100k-odd to spunk up the wall every week.
