Welcome win for you boys, you deserved it. You weren't fantastic by any means, and in a way it reaffirmed my opinion of a hughton side, you worked really hard in that first half, pressed really well and hassled stoke to create your chances, good goal by howson. But in the final third you lacked. Second half was a more soaking up half, you were very lucky not to concede a stonewall penalty, but again stoke were really bad in the final third. Well done though.
When he keeps it simple he bridges the defence and midfield together perfectly, excellent game. I think our midfield bar Snodgrass were great today not exactly perfect, they but managed dictated the game.
Funny how a game of football can either make you very happy or sad, fantastic win and a needed one with Chelsea and Arsenal up next. Hughton got it spot on, but no doubt some fans (as some are on twitter) will find something to moan about.
Not only did he get it right, but he was very brave to send on Elmander rather than Hooper. If we hadn't won that game, he would have been crucified (almost certainly wrongly) for that decision.
Had Stoke scored, I would not have put it down to that substitution, never in a million years. Yes it could have been considered a negative step, but protecting a 1-0 lead with 10 minutes or so is reasonable enough away at a place like the Britannia.

That Baz bloke on Canary call was a nutter. That's the most comfortable 1-0 away win you'll probably see and he's ranting about how bad a game it was and we only just beat them! Fair enough not liking the manager or his style but blindly ignoring a good performance in favour of slating Hughton is just foolish.
I don't mind people going on there and being annoyed but after today it just seems like moaning for the sake of moaning (Nothing new there then).
