    4-1

I do believe this is what's known as a very bad day at the office.

If I was Whittingham I'd make the players pay for the travel and ticket costs to the traveling supporters

Guy sometimes goes for the attacking option.

Have to wonder why Guy went for 442 on an away game.

I respect guy for everything he has endured and stood for..........but I am really beginning to question some of his tactics.......or lack of them!

On the Pompey Player DW said that Guy and Macca were looking at each other with a "what can we do" look.

What did Painter think he was up to as well? He nearly got 2 yellows - ref was lenient with him.

I don't like Neil Warnock much, but he would most probably sort Pompey out.

Warnock would be a fabulous appointment for Portsmouth but I think he would be too expensive on top of the money you would have to pay to get rid of Whittingham.

As a Saints fan and seeing us currently placed fourth in the PL table, we can afford to have a laugh at Portsmouth's fate but, in all honesty, a team of your size should be dictating this league. I'm staggered that you have not dmonated this league and to see you in 17th and 9 points adift of the play offs looks wrong to the outside fan. The press has been full of a whole raft of stories about footballers demanding transfers or being dropped. However, I think Portsmouth's inability to make an impression in League Two is one of the most baffling and curious stories for the football fan in the season 2013/14 so far. In August, all right-minded football fans believed you would walk this league .

Whilst it is true that we are only a couple of months in to the season, there seems to be no signs of improvement in your performances and it seems shocking that you are being turned over by teams like Fleetwood and York with no real football pedigree. It's fascinating seeing your results as I expect you to win each week yet the opposition always seem to be stronger or Portsmouth implode through defensive or goal-keeping errors.

I can't see PFC reaching the play-offs at this rate automatic promotion spots already beyond your reach. It is a fascinating scenario for the non-Pompey fan. However, if I was a Pompey supporter, I would be looking towards Guy and asking myself is he up to the job? Effectively you are in the bottom half of a league your club status suggests you shouldn't be playing in and attracting a healthy attendance at home matches which should put you to great advantage amongst your competitors. I would want to know why your team is not good enough to compete in a league you have a genuine right to argue that you are far too large a club to be playing in. I'm surprised that the media hasb't picked up on this story, especially as the club is now owen by the fans and being run in a fashion that most fans outside the PL would hold to be a model example of the realtionship between the comunity and the club. In the lower leagues, the game genuinely needs the Portsmouth model to be successful.

At this rate, I think I shall be retired before the next Saints / Pompey derby in the league!!

And therein lies the problem - before the season started most right-minded fans were a) happy to still have a club and b) would be happy with a mid-table position. Then expectations were raised.

Truthfully - we are a 'team' of freebies - let go by their former clubs because they didn't fit into their plans, or they just weren't good enough.

Our defence is young and inexperienced with a couple of older heads who just aren't that good. The biggest mistake (in my mind) was letting Rocha slip out of our hands - he organised and trained the defence. We also don't have a defence coach - which doesn't help.

Mistakes were made by the board, firstly by appointing Guy instead of a seasoned manager, then allowing Guy to appoint Steve Allen, the physio, as his assistant instead of someone who could provide on-the-job training for Guy.

Other teams have worked out how to nullify our team - Guy needs to employ new tactics, and quick.

Guy is a rookie manager - everyone knew that when he was appointed. His record last season was glossed over because of the situation we were in, and knowing that more than 50 players would not form a winning combination. This is 'his' team now - and his coaching staff have been around a while now as well. I noticed a comment from someone reminding us that it took until October under Appleton before things gelled.

I don't see the PCFC Board going with a knee-jerk reaction and sacking Guy. His big mistake was in appointing a green assistant. Has Steve Allen got any credentials as a manager?

Personally I would like to see a 'mentor' or similar brought in to do some on-the-job training for Guy - someone of the ilk of Steve Coppell at Crawley. If at the end of the season we are deep in the mire then yes, he has to go.

totally agree, I have posted several times previously, that the board appointed GW by way of thanks, he had the fans backing simply because he stayed put and dug in deep when it mattered..........the frustration he must have endured.....like us was incredible. he is a PFC man.....its in his blood, and he can do a job for us.......but maybe as a coach.......we need a strong, influential and experienced manager.......some one who can really get these lads playing, some one who can instill confidence in every single one of them..........

individually, they have skill.........collectively they look at times like they are lost.........to say the least.

I don't understand how GW makes statements in the press about how he wants Pompey to play attractive football............and then 16k of us go to FP and watch the keeper (if that's what he is) hoof it up field to big Pat......nearly every single goal kick, free kick, off side or back pass..........!

Like 3rd eye, very grateful we have a club our ground and our passion.........would be happy to see financial stability and a top mid table finish this season..........I laugh every week when I see the bookies odds on us.......how they get those figures when we loose or draw week in week out I dont know!

Personally, GW has until the New year to get it going......if not move over and lets get some one else...........its early days, but the wrot is setting in!

Maybe Guy should have a good chat with Eddie Howe. He has already walked this path with Bournemouth. Or even (incoming missiles) Nigel Adkins.

Both of them got their teams playing well and winning.
