Although we're capable of more, I would happily accept eight points from those six games. Important to beat Fulham and Hull at home imo.
That would give us 19 points which after 12 games last season would have seen us comfoortably in the top 10.
If we did this purely on quality of each team and ignore all other factors (such as home or away and upsetting the Gods), we should draw with Swansea (about our equivalent), lose to ManU and Arsenal and win the others: 10 points. But we all know that life isn't like that.
Won't predict every game individually, although my primary hope is to be unbeaten at home with at least a couple of wins, but anywhere between 8-12 points I'd be pretty happy with. Really hoping for a result at OT, but think they've probably hit rock bottom (by their standards) and are gonna be dealing out some hot fiery retribution in their next few games... Although hopefully they'll just take it all out on Sunderland.
Going conservative because I'd rather be pleasantly surprised: Swansea (H) draw Man Utd (A) loss Fulham (H) win Stoke (A) draw Hull (H) win Arsenal (A) loss 8 points in 6, which would leave us on 19 points through 12.
WOW, What a difference a year makes. 11pts from 6 games so far compared to 3 pts at the same stage last year. 2 goals conceeded compared to 18 after 6 games last year. This really is some improvement and its not that the opposition is poor, infact comparing our pts against same opposition last year WBA (a) LOST SUNDERLAND (h) LOST NORWICH (a) DREW WEST HAM (h) DREW LIVERPOOL (a) LOST SUBSTITUTE PALACE HOME WITH QPR HOME - LOST SO SAME OPPOSITION TO LAST YEAR WE ONLY PICKED UP 2 PTS. Even our next 6 games last season we didnt get a win from any Swansea (H) draw Man Utd (A) loss Fulham (H) draw Stoke (A) draw Hull (H) win, substitute wigan lost Arsenal (A) loss Just 3 pts from these fixtures last year. infact put the same scores to our season fixtures this season we would be waiting untilDecember 3 this year for our first win (villa home) As i say what an improvement. Looking forward to the next 6 games and a return of about 9pts compared to the 3pts against same opposition last year. Come on you saints
I wouldn't predict any results, i just want to add that on our day we can beat any of these sides. One thing goes in our favor; Swansea plays Europa league fixture three days before their visit to St. Mary's, and United plays CL game 4 days after our visit to Old Trafford, which comes just after the international break (a number of their players will be involved). I think we can win both of these games, if we give our best.
I agree but just thinking we can win at Old Trafford makes me think I'm losing the plot. Shows how far we have come!
I feel that we can beat anyone on our day, but I also felt this a bit last season. I stopped being fearful of teams, which was weird because I can remember being nervous when we faced Leeds in our first Championship game. We have good players...perhaps not individually as good as those in the top sides, but good as a team...and we have a style that other teams have to handle (which makes a change). We just have to get the rub of the green...refs seem a bit kinder as well this season.
Swansea (H) draw Man Utd (A) loss Fulham (H) win Stoke (A) draw Hull (H) win Arsenal (A) loss 2 wins, 2 draws, 2 defeats. 8 points. I think we would have to accept that given the 3 tough away games.
