You have been supporting a team for 22 years, from the day the PL began and have seen your team dominate English, and to a lesser degree, European football from that day to this. Just like Forest, the iconic manager hangs up his training kit, and everything turns to pooh very quickly. Just imagine supporting that team today, the feeling must be totally gut wrenching, and I am loving it! All those plastics crying in to the rice soup over here tonight
Still better to be a proper supporter of your local team, whatever their results, than be one of the plastics that you mentioned.
I had to put up with a bar full of them ****ers last season when they did us 4-0 at OT, just wish I could see them now
Yup! I tried to get a stream of the game but they were all piss poor - for every game today! Would have enjoyed seeing the masses flocking out on 85 minutes in the knowledge they had been undone at home. No doubt there will be lots to read about it over the next week if the media can stop following Gareth Bale for 5 minutes
Morning Thai. Don't worry about the plastics. They're all excited waiting for the postman to deliver their new Arsenal shirts.
Just got up to find the results. Brilliant that the old order seems to be crumbling. Long may it last.
Thanks Guru The down side to all of this is that the 606 phone in is practically all about bloody Man Utd
I'm probably the only one on here who did,but I enjoyed Lambert's win over City more.At least the United team has been built with more than just a cheque book.Having said that it's really good to see half the division fighting it out for a change.
Takes us back to the first few years of the PL and the era that preceded it. I dare say most of the usual suspects will be in the top 6/7 but at least it does open things up a bit and even the likes of Arsenal and Spurs can see some possibility of ending up higher than 4th - even possibly win the damned thing!
Moyes at manure reminds me of the old Hans Christian Anderson tale about the Emperor and his new clothes! This current Man Utd team is the worst that SAF has built and Moyes has been given the thankless job of rebuilding this side in just one season! Name any player apart from Rooney and RVP that could walk straight into the starting line up of any of the other main title challengers? No? Thought not! SAF Dragged this group of players through to the title last year and this has to go down as one of Fergies greatest ever achievements. To win the title with what can be justifiably described as pretty average group of players was simply remarkable. Without Fergies Influence Utd are nothing.
I'm loath to defend Man City, but (and it's been said beore) Man U have always splashed vast sums of cash. To suggest they are in anyway superior because they did it spread out over longer period is, I think, illogical. All the big clubs are equally guilty, the difference is it's easier to slam a Russian or Arab oiligach than the slew of quieter Man U sponsors.
I would tend to agree with you BUT how can you explain the development of Giggs, Scholes, Beckham, The Neville's, Lee Sharp etc...? They all came from Uniteds youth set up.
