It is a bit early in the season for this thread, but it doesn't have to be framed in this moment. It will be interesting to see if views change as the season progresses. I'm not sure why it's been met so defensively by some to be honest. I was of the opinion that if Wenger made no signings of significance this summer after the club publicly stated that we would, then it would have been time for change, at least at some level in the management structure, whether that was a DOF or a change at board level, or a new manager. I happen to be of the opinion that Wenger is still the best man for the job and I'm willing to argue why I believe that.

The whole WOB v AKB stance is a bit narrow to be honest, because most of us have views that straddle both opinions at times and that's why I thought it might be interesting to see if anybody's views had shifted given that we bought a 'top top quality' player that we said we would and we've made an impressive start to the season.

I don't think that's what this thread is about.

It's a fair expectation, especially considering Arsenal are just about the current form team in the league (helped by having an easier fixture list I guess) and have been since losing to Chelsea in January. I'd like to hope that the confidence amongst the supporters has swung in the right direction (and the Ozil signing certainly propelled it) and that it stays that way in order to help fortify the confidence amongst the players.

I'm in the same position as you over the WOB v AKB stuff; none of us are 100% either way, because to be at either extreme is basically an admittance of partisanship over analysis (even if proper, pure analysis is near impossible).

    Mate are you ok?

The way you express yourself makes me think your one post away from suicide or something more destructive. I always thought this was a forum for discussion and not to spread hate and bile!?

You really need to check yourself... Read back the stuff you write and ask yourself if its normal.

We knew the squad was low on numbers but with injuries and illness it is now getting thinner than Steve Boulds hair. The players looked tired today and there is little opportunity to rotate until people are back. It looks to me like Arteta, TV and others will be needed as they come back. I'm on the fence at the moment whether Wenger is still the right man and the lack of options reinforces the issue.

This poll needs another option of 50/50.

It's not about Wenger being sacked, it's about him earning the right to extend his contract.

As it stands, I still want somebody new in 2014.

Man U will stick by Moyes for a couple of years, regardless of how bad it gets imo.

At the start of the season when we'd lost to Villa and hadn't bought anyone social media was full of posts by people wanting Wenger out. Some people tried to organise a boycott of the new away shirt.Another protest was to ask fans not to buy pie, pints & programmes.Since the Villa game we have bought Ozil and won 7 games on the run.Social media has now gone very quiet about wanting Wenger out and from what I saw yesterday plenty of people were wearing the yellow shirt and plenty were queing up to buy programmes, pies & pints.Personally I don't see this thread as a WUM designed to antagonise the so-called "Wenger Out Brigade" but it does ask the question if people have changed their view about him since the start of the season.

If Moyes doesn't achieve at least 4th place he will be sacked in my opinion

Wenger's comments regarding Kronke this week suggest that he's very likely to sign a new contract. Are the WOBs upset about this or are they mellowing to the idea that he might still be in charge next season ?

Will say the same thing I have been since the summer if we do the same stagnate/regression we have for the last few years then its time for wenger to move on. If we show improvement (He doesn't even have to win anything) then give him another contract because there is no one I want to turn this ship around more than Wenger.

One reason people should be happy with the idea is that Wenger staying on was seemingly crucial to the Ozil deal.

What people wanted was change. As Wenger is showing change he becomes acceptable again. His previous lack of flexibility was the primary driver behind people wanting him out.

Devastated if it's true. We need ambition at the helm, not a man who considers success to be 4th place.

To be fair, the team have improved over the last few seasons, in terms of the league at least. Not by much, I grant you.
