Listened to the Burnley game on the Player. We were totally devoid of inspiration throughout, and our confidence is now evidently shot to pieces.

I hope that CP does the decent thing and resigns, because otherwise it is going to get messy.

I think the phrase is "stuck record"' , if you are going to try to be patronising, at least try to get your facts right.

I suppose you think we should plough on with your Mr Micawber strategy ?

The answer to your question is yes since I don't see a viable alternative within the price range of a club that couldn't afford to buy anyone to strengthen the squad in the summer. Those we did ship in were on frees and may not be capable of strengthening the squad. Getting a new manager in? Well your list of alternatives does not inspire me.

Powell has turned things round in the past and could do so again. If we go down your route of spending what we do not have the result is likely to be relegation due to administration rather than just poor results.

Like many others on here I will wait until at least Christmas before panicking.

If however you get your way and CP goes to be replaced by a third rate manager I will happily hold you responsible.

Not holding responsible, but if we did hire a 3rd rate gaffa and was poor I shall be one of the first to say "I Told you so" however if one that Vou recommended does happen and is good I shall put my hands up and accept it

I love this forum, but it is actually completely irrelevant to the decision-making at the club.

But these "Sack the Manager"merchants can not give in to their knee jerk natures, they get warned that getting a new manager makes no difference, and when that fact gets proven, and they get their next sap, he gets the same treatment... "-------- OUT!"

Nothing has changed the club owners are well out of their depths financially to succeed, as was Murray by 2004, when a downturn in fortunes was so obviously coming... Many people pointed this out at the time, but where were the pressure groups then...?

I don't want him to go, but if we are to shift Powell now is the time Nigel Clough, rate him, yeah not moved Derby up BUT not exactly whipping boys are they? I'd happily have Clough over any of the ones that Vou suggested... unless he did say Clough and I didn't read it.

The Doctor, by letting his contract run down, has made it easy to sack him. I also think it must make it harder for him to manage. I wanted to see him get a contract extension, but now it looks like a vicious circle to me, if you see what I mean.

Might not see Clough come to Charlton but you could well see Powell being looked at by Derby (ex-player etc...)

If that hideous troll Ian Dowie can get a job in television, then I do not fear that Chris Powell will find work again.

Thanks for re-enforcing my point, as I said through the eyes of these knee jerkers, Curbs, Dowie, Reed, Pardew, Parkinson & now Powell all turned out to be "****e"...
So they got their wish five times... Five changes and we've all witnessed the improvements haven't we..?

Problems are at the top, as they've always been... Only difference now is this board are getting blamed for not investing in the squad, but how many of these critics used the same principles for Murray when he had Parky in a position of looking for players on e-bay..?

Poor coaching and tactics are not the fault of the board.

The players' performances are down to Powell.

The team's performance is down to Powell.

This current run of dross is down to Powell.

He has one week to sort it out, but I doubt he actually can.

I made no mention of Powell's abilities or lack of... I simply included him in a list to highlighted my point.. A point based on fact, not opinion...

Hired my mate Dave and gave him a toothpick and told him to build a shed with it. Came back half an hour later and he had somehow not managed it. What a crap handyman he is, so I've sacked him.

Pretty much sums up the Powell out club

Really..? I'm guessing Jimmy The Addick's superb analogy will also remain a mystery to the folk I was referring to in my initial post...

He also built the same shed with the same toothpick just three months before. He was asked to repeat the task, but has forgotten how to do it....
