    You mean The Observer?

"Off the field, opposition to the extraordinary plan by the Hull City owner, Assem Allam, to dispense with 110 years of tradition and rename the club has solidified. A meeting of various supporters' organisations resulted in the formation of a single action group with the sole aim of opposing Allam's intention to rebrand the club as Hull Tigers."

What bad coverage? If anything the Allam's thoughtless interviews have made us look ridiculously bad and tinpot in the media. Not the protests.

You're missing the whole point again- we're happy for the Allams to stay, but we want negotiations about the name change.

The lads are doing themselves proud on the pitch, aren't they?

There is so much being talked about on this thread which no one can be certain of as it is dependent on the future. The only certain thing we can all expect is death, after paying more taxes to the government. The interesting point to mention is that when we needed to find a new owner, how many people were on the list?

Yes some people may dislike the way Papa does business (he did ok to make multi-millions) or how he interacts with the council (which many posters are happy to slag off on numerous occasions, forget the name of everyone's "favourite" councillor). But there is this mystery question - if Papa knows there is unease/unhappiness/downright anger about the name change, then why is he going down the route of changing us to Hull Tigers? I don't think it is stubbornness or the fact he is a "mad Egyptian" or he has underestimated what the fans really think - but there is something which he knows (which would benefit the club financially in all likelihood - as he is a business man, and we all do stuff to get the best financial reward) which he will reveal just before the PL probably approves the change, and I wish I knew Papa so I had a clue as to what it is.

    Who knows?

I still think he wants to distance himself from the Council and that's his main motive. But he is the only person who seems to associate the name Hull City with our council in any meaningful way.

Now that Steve Brady has offered an olive branch of sorts (and is skint), maybe Assem Allam will reciprocate and we can all move forward?

"I think they are doing a great job so far and dropping AFC is a small price to pay for the success we are receiving"

Why must there be a price to pay?

It's not just the "AFC" though, is it? He wants to do away with the "City" part as well.

    You lot conveniently forget this.

And i agree with Aggers- why must we do away with our name to be successful?

Thought it had always been used from the start? People initally complaining that he was changing it to Hull City Tigers, then when his actual vision came into the reckoning, ie Hull Tigers.

And people will get worked up, if they believe their club is being changed (deemed ruined) unnecessarily.
