That's the difference between an RvP and an Olivier Giroud....a world class striker would've buried that
No-one playing well for us. Sagna and Flamini seem to be the best players. Was worried that Gnabry was on course for another shocker until that last run. Finally some promise... was beginning to think he had none.
Not a great 1st half. Still all to play for in the 2nd. Let's hope we can be a good 2nd half team this season.
At least we're not a goal down. Could be worse. We just need to borrow Fergie's out of commission hair dryer.
That was a nice chance created by Gnabry. I know I'm always on about him, but I really wouldn't mind if that was the last time I ever see Szczesny in an Arsenal shirt. Fabiansky really can't be worse, and at least he wouldn't annoy the **** out of me. He is so image conscious that he'd rather look "cool" than just secure the ball by putting it in the sidelines. Cocky piece of ****.
It's a very even and fairly conservative game. Both teams defending well and doing ok in midfield but not creating anything worthwhile up top. Because of the ability of both teams to pass through a team, both sides are trying not to allow an open game. It'll probably come down to who takes the chance or two createdin the next half. Or we may see one sidestart to tire and a few goals in the last 10-20 minutes. But i think it'll end upas a 1-0. Giroud hasn't had any service so i'm not too bothered he has had a quiet game. We need to get in behind there defense but no-one is showing the pace to do it, we have no Jenkinson on the pitch who is quick up the flank and no Walcott/Oxocube, Gibbs isn't getting the opportunities to go forward as he has quick players on his side of the pitch for Swansea. Miyaichi might be a good option at 60-70 minutes when the players are more tired.
We've been pretty sound defensively. And another fact from that first half: neither side managed an attempt on target. Boring.
I agree i think he has had a good game so far. Defensively we have been good, we just haven't created many proper opportunities.
