Excellent news as far as I am concerned. Always had a lot of time for Jol when he was at Spurs and remember that night when he was sacked in such a humiliating fashion with most of the fans knowing before he did. Hopefully that has made him hungry for revenge in the best way by building a top Premiership side to prove his point - after all, he was sacked so Ramos could come in and how well did that work out?

I think the games against Spurs will be interesting, Jol might just want a bit of revenge.
    not forgetting Wenger.

Surprisingly, I think there's quite a few players from the Jol era still at WHL...
    Bale
    Lennon
    Huddlestone
    King
    Dawson
    Kaboul
    Defoe
    Keane
    Assou-Ekotto
    Jenas
    Alnwick

I don't think Jol will want revenge. Yes he was unafairly sacked but he looks as if he's moved on with his life, unlike Sparkles, who will always be obsessed with City. Jol has been at two quality teams since, so he obviously didn't let it affect his career.

Not to nit-pick Super Brian, but I think Kaboul was signed by Harry in his raid on Pompey.

Also is Alnwick still at Spuds? They have Gomes, Cudicini, Pleitikosa and now Friedel ahead of him.

I might be wrong, but I thought Redknapp had bought him from Tottenham when he was Portsmouth Manager and then bought him from them when he became Tottenham boss ?

Quite looking forward to the Jol era.

He is an absolute gentleman, definitely one of the good guys in football. It's already clear how much he respects the club and its fans, something Hughes never seemed to really comment on. His motivation should help us really put the effort in this year.

I have high hopes for this season.

I hear tell that Mcleish has resigned. Thank the Lord MO moved quickly.

Perhaps someone can urge him to get Jol to do the same and go after Ben Gordon - see the 'Fullbacks thread. No apologies for being boringingly repetitive; this guy is goood and we should be shouting his CV hoping someone at the club will pick it up.
