Off to the Isle of Colonsay next week for some R&R, weather looks dry if cool so should get some walking, cycling done and visit some fine beaches. There is even a micro brewery that employs 10% of the working population - 2!

Going to see Ruby Turner on Sat before we go, she of Jools fame.

I believe the hotel has wifi too.

    Have a good w/e everyone.

Our clocks go forward tomorrow (so we will be 12 hours
ahead of you). When do clocks go back in the UK?

I actually prefer it when our clocks go forward
I only work an 11 hour shift, rather than 12

Morning all from Jersey. We have blue skies here with the odd wispy cloud and unsurprisingly my 15yo is still in bed.

Ak, thanks in advance for the tea.

Morning all from a misty bandit country - hopefully it will burn off quickly and a nice sunny afternoon to watch the game.

Morning all, decent enough start to the day here, but showers turning to thundery rain forecast for later in the day. I do not want storms about at 4.00pm thank you very much as I tend to lose my internet connection. :(

Why don't they leave the bloody clocks alone, it is mid-day when the sun is overhead, end of story.

Daylight saving - where do they save it under the bed?<grr>

For 3 years in late 60s/early70s, they experimented by leaving clocks unchanged at GMT+1, and whilst it was dark until 0845 in the morning in midwinter, it was far more compensated by it not getting dark until 1715. Much better for kids coming home from school. Not many mums had cars in those days to pick Jack and Jill up from school so it was walk or bus, and the lighter evenings, were far safer.

Spain is thinking about returning to the same time as the UK. It is one thing moving the hours about while crossing the channel, but not sure that I fancy driving through a non-existent border and finding myself in a different time zone. It would make sense for Scotland to have a different time to Hampshire and may come about when the border posts and immigration controls come into effect. ;)

We do not fiddle the clocks. That is a silly idea, to save daylight. You are only moving your activity about in the day light nature allows.
