Their opposition, Middlesbrough have struggled this season, winning only once, which incidentally came on the road. Tony Mowbray`s men have not won in their last six, drawing five (L1), which suggests they could be hard to beat but lack the confidence to win. Rangers on the other hand are as steady as a rock at the moment, keeping six consecutive clean sheets. Indeed, the R`s have already edged five matches by just a single goal, which indicates the belief in the camp is high, even when matches have been tightly contested affairs. If Rangers are able to recall the likes of Junior Hoilett and Niko Kranjcar to the side, then there`s a strong possibility they will score more than one goal tomorrow. Lone striker Charlie Austin has battled admirably upfront and it`ll be good for his confidence that he`s scored a few goals recently. However, the service into Austin has been pretty poor - a few more crosses into the box for him to attack would be ideal. With the inclusion of the aforementioned playmakers, Charlie might find goals easier to come by. Middlesbrough are notably weak from set-pieces, which again bodes well for the R`s as Joey Barton`s corners and free-kicks have been very good so far this term. Junior Hoilett could return but Matt Phillips is a doubt. Javier Chevanton could start. Possible line up: GREEN SIMPSON - DUNNE - HILL - ASSOU-EKOTTO WRIGHT-PHILLIPS - HENRY - O`NEILL - BARTON - HOILETT AUSTIN QPR New Signing Javier Chevanton please log in to view this image Player to watch: Richard Dunne So that`s seven games without conceding with Richard Dunne on the field. Says it all. Dunne is the bedrock of our defence and a natural leader, so I`m picking him for the second week in a row because other than Rob Green, he was probably our man of the match against Yeovil. It`s clear to see that Dunne should be playing in the top flight still and it`s a thoroughly enjoyable experience, watching him bully opposition strikers at this level - a defensive masterclass if I`ve ever seen one. Long may it continue. Middlesbrough Team News: Former QPR midfielder Emmanuel Ledesma misses out through suspension, as does Rhys Williams. Possible line up: STEELE HOYTE - GIBSON - WOODGATE - FRIEND ADOMAH - LEADBITTER - WHITEHEAD - BUTTERFIELD - CARAYOL KAMARA Stat's Ya Lot The Hoops have kept six successive clean sheets in the Championship and are yet to concede with Richard Dunne on the pitch (seven games). Middlesbrough have lost 12 points from leading positions this campaign; a league-high. QPR have conceded just two goals this season; the fewest in the football league (exc. Premier League). Rob Green (90%) has the highest save percentage in the Championship (min. of six saves). QPR have afforded the opposition just 81 shots on goal this season; fewer than any other Championship side. QPR have hit the woodwork 6 times this season; a joint-league-high with Forest. QPR have yet to concede a second half goal this season. Cheers for that Grif, that was an enjoyable read there from Clive W. I particularly liked this line..... '' Veteran Uruguayan international Javier Chevanton is the latest waif and stray who it turns out has been training with QPR – it’s like we’re running a sort of Battersea Dog’s Home for footballers and coaches without clubs – ''
Just to whet our appetites from three years ago, the last time we played Middlesborough at home in the 2010/11 season - must be one of Hogan Ephraim's best games for the club. Hoping for another 3-0 victory on Saturday.
Ephraim's goal in that match still remains as one of my favourites. Great vision, great movement, great passing, great skill.
OK, apart from wearing a collar & tie in the main frame, I'll be buggered if I can see any difference .......... someone help me please.
I see from the line ups that BAE is good enough to play left back and also just in front of the back 4. Respect.
is Woodgate any good stil. He alone could keep the goal fest down Would have been good to see how Ledesma had developed I predict 1 Nil - SWP winner Surprisingly odds are 850 -1
In an attempt to save time and mental health searching later on, the single most predictable and boring question on match day - anyone know of any live streams that will work in the UK?
QPR XI: Green; Simpson, Dunne, Hill, Assou-Ekotto, Austin, Carroll, Barton, Kranjcar, Faurlin, O’Neil. QPR Subs: Murphy; Traore, Jenas, Chevanton, Henry, Hoilett, Ehmer.
As Northy used to say, "Google it!". Well it's not on Bet 365 - I'm currently watching Forest v Derby (1-0) on Bet365 and Spurs v Chelsea (1-0) on TV. Townsend playing fantastic, but got a yellow card for a dive when already past his man - silly boy. Would be nice if Derby could get something out of this game, but unlikely as they are now down to 10 men (red card challenge, but Forest missed penalty - good save). I think Forest will be up there at end - if they win today they will be on 18 pts. Perhaps a BBC London radio commentary later?
We're the new Barca? Forest 1 Derby 0 - FT - our former boy Mackie in the rough & tough with a bandage around his head! Spurs 1 Chelsea 1 (Terry)
