    Pardew put out a surprisingly strong team for Leeds.

    He will have read that 60% of supporters think we should prioritise the cups over the league. I wouldn't be surprised to find our best team played.

    I hope you're right yeah.

    However he can read all the supporter polls he likes but when Mike Ashley reminds him Premier League survival is the extent of the club's ambition this term, I can't imagine him prioritising the cups at all.

    Question for Newcastle is, do we dare to afford going the full distance in a cup given the problems it gave Wigan last year?

    If the club had the size of squad it should then managing the two campaigns shouldn't be an issue, but we're weaker on depth than last year...

    Still, I cling to the fact that Fernandinho's sh!t. Erm. And Milner might be distracted.

    I'd like to think they view it as "early round, bigger fish to fry, put out the reserves" and we catch them on a bad night. Then see what the draw pulls out. Chelsea or Arsenal are out so need a spurs/man U/arsea draw and the chances grow.
    Chances are we would be traveling to one of those four in the next round. Build em up, knock em down an all that.
