The big news from rural France tonight is that LeClerc was ram raided in the early hours of Tuesday morning. After a stressful Tuesday evening I realised that my personnel wine lake was reaching a critically low level, so popped into town to get emergency supplies in. The two sets of glass doors had gone missing and just large planks of wood were there to be put in place tonight when the store closes. The alarms were set off and the whole thing was captured on CCTV. The culprits drove their lorry in through the doors, filled shopping trolleys with spirits, and departed in two minutes. Despite dropping some of the bottles they got away with hundreds of them. The local nick is about one minute away by car, or three minutes on foot. By the time the law keepers got out of bed, waited for their security gate to open and arrived on the scene the thieves had disappeared. Fortunately wine is too cheap to steal, so my supplies were unaffected.
