The meeting was held after the Cardiff march and my posts on here. You all had the opportunity to read my initial post that suggested setting up a campaign group. There was ample opportunity for members of this board to say we want to be involved. We've written to the OSC letting them know they would be welcome to observe the meetings. If this board want an invite to send representatives I'm sure you'll get one.
Well put. I was typing when this note of yours was being composed. I suppose to get any credibility, all this "not well thought out" garbage should be filtered out, but as you say, with a forum this size , it would be impossible for mods to select the wheat from the chaff, even if their own bias could be incorruptible.
There's a tiny number of gobby posters that try to disrupt threads discussing the name change. Each time they've been pushed for credible argument, they've been found wanting, so it's reasonable to assume that they're just attention seeing turds and probably best not given the attention they crave. Before others pipe up, that's not to say everyone has to have the same view, that's far from what's needed as full and open debate on the topic is vital, and seems to be what some of the gobby types are afraid of.
Mate - don't ****ing lower yourself to the cocks level. What you're doing is reminiscent of what some of us did years ago carrying a coffin around the ground. More power to you and all those involved. Edit - this was intended for Obadiah responding to Hat
I really fail to understand that comment. WUM I am definately not. Sick, obscure sense of humour maybe. I doubt any post I've ever made on here relating to HCAFC ( or Hull) has been in any way negative. Can you explain how you come to that conclusion ?
Ok, ok, it might not be the only important group, that lot over on the Hull footymad board are important too. Allam says he wants Hull Tigers, but will reason at Hull City Tigers, he wants 'tigers' in the clubs official name, thats the problem. I've no idea whether its for a marketing trick or what, those suggestions I came up with on the other thread were because no bugger else was coming up with anything. I'd suggest we'd be marketed as tigers whether the name changes or not like we always have been. I'm guessing Allam has motives that he doesn't want to blurt out to every other club in the country for them to go and nip in ahead else he wouldn't bother pissing off a large part of the clubs true (local) support for nothing. Allam may be a lot of things, mental, self possessed, even petty, but he's not an idiot, and as it looks on paper at the minute, only an idiot would make the move. The only scenarios I can think a name change would be needed, or have any effect for, are the (sort of) non-football related brand similar to Yankees or whatever. Which I must admit despite the cheesey, tacky name for a football club it would be a good move all things considered, or the sporting club, but I doubt these are what he's planning. We'll see anyway, he seems set on it and as we've found out so far, he wants he gets or he has a massive tantrum. I'm intrigued to see what, if anything, is behind all this, and afraid to find out what might happen down the other route. I'd rather not have the name change, but its not the end of the world. He's hardly renaming England as Scotland.
They don't represent you or claim to. I think that's fairly obvious from the minutes. I hope on Saturday that the real world does walk past us, after taking a leaflet and a badge or the KC will be pretty empty.
I post on here occaisionally but read daily. Firstly I know of two posters on here who attended FLAG meetings so this forum has been represented in recent times. I know of at least one on this thread who I met at the Huddersfield protest march just a normal bloke like me. I was at both name change protests and I've offered to support again on Saturday, no agenda I just wanted to show my support. Just how many do you need to have a quorum for the meeting, come up with a strategy to express fans views and agree action. As Obi says anyone could have asked to be involved. Sit on here and expressing your honest views is part of the debate. Even negativity is something. I get more frustrated with apathy and fans who say "why bother, you're wasting your time", mates of mine say it regularly.. We can all do and say whst we want, on here or at the KC. Its your choice but I just dont understand what negativity and sniping achieves. Anyone can get involved if they choose. I was lucky to be asked to help in a smsll way, with many if these guys over the WYP Bubble protest. They are commited City fans and there is no hidden agenda. I will be there Saturday trying to encourage less apathy and raise the profile. I dont represnt any groups, forums fanzines etc. I'm just a City fan who loves the club who's not convinced thst Hull Tigers will be any more marketable anywhere than The Tigers and or Hull City.
How do you manage such gay posts?? Carmine's trying to post gay on the other thread with little success justwhat is your secret aggers??
If people want a representative of this board on there, then I'm happy to do it, I already know almost all of the people that were at the first meeting.
You don't want the name change but will live with it. The point is its part of our community, it is part of all of us, he's taking it away because he thinks its a lousy identity. We don't because most of our songs have City in them. He's taking it away and he hasn't got the decency or good manners to ask us how we feel about it. Paraphrasing what he said, he's the businessman and he doesn't have to take our feelings into account.
This. And there's been ample opportunity to discuss yhe benefits of protesting. It's been done to death and bollocks from the likes of John and Tubby just constantly putting people's efforts down at every opportunity is unnecessary and unwelcome. Far too many of these threads have been hijacked by this negative nonsense so any more will just be deleted. If those against protesting would like to make these kinds of comments that's none of my business so they're welcome to start a 'Protest protest' thread and discuss it on there but not on this one or any others made with the aim of discussing how best to protest.
TWF - it might be the same old people but I think that's because they're the people who care enough to do something. They aren't exclusive, I'm sure others would be welcome. I'll be offering to join them.
That's not on plt. Your over stepping the boundaries there. This is an open board you can't stop people posting what they want. Just cos you don't like it.
I'd agree, people posting whining posts about the protesters is irritating, but shouldn't be censored.
