apparently all games may get played at 0200 hours to make the best of the cooler weather, when it is expected to drop to 39 degree's although with global warming that might then be 41..i don't care a toads left testicle really as I will be dead or 101

I think we were surprised that oil rich Russia and oil rich Qatar both won.

Qata got 14 votes to Australias 1. They also say that is it a fair competition on the basis that people would have voted on where to have the world cup in what we call summer (winter for them) and now it might be changed to a winter world cup but the worse part is they are talking about the same time as the winter Olympics which has angered the Olympic comittee.

I guess you can always say that its strange that 14 countries voted on having a world cup somewhere where fifas own doctors have said its not safe to play football

In the interests of the major footballing nations, Australia have little right to host it either.

Funny how we get overlooked time after time

They have given the world cup to a country of app 250,000 people, that's less than the size of Bristol, and most of those inhabitants are not "natives" so to speak. So 5 stadiums? if all the inhabitants attended the max you could get for each stadium would be 50,000 and presuming that a large proportion of the population is made up of migrant workers on poor wages who could not afford to go that would be a lot less. So they will be relying on "foreign fans to attend??? Don't want to sound cynical but I wonder how many palms have been greased in this voting process
Why Oh Why? It should open the door for the Pharoe Islands,Wales, Iceland (whoops no that would be too cold), Finland etc.
Just beggars belief when football mad countries have to wait and wait to get a chance.
I suppose it's all too political for us poor football fans just a chase for a "bigger and better" world cup so has to be an incredibly rich country that holds it.
Time to downsize it and make it a fans tournament, but unfortunately that will never happen

Let's hope Australia win. If they win, the rest will follow. I bet the Yanks spent a ton on their bid, and they'll be more pissed off than most, considering it was down to them and Qatar apparently.

Qatar bid on the premise of the tournament being played in the summer. If that cannot be guaranteed then the bidding should reopen.
