Where does that leave Hulk? Grosjean doesn't deserve the boot and brings in some serious cash. Could McLaren be really ditching Perez and bringing Hulk in instead?
Kubica is still driving the Mercedes simulator, and is his recovery seems to be coming along nicely, if slowly, has been running well in the WRC (except for a massive crash last week), could we see him return next year in one of the back markers?
from the last interview I heard from him he said a return will never happen because an F1 car cockpit is too cramped and he wont have the arm manoeuvrability.
Toleman >> Bennetton >> Renault >> Lotus >> Renault?? http://www.f1technical.net/news/18787 its strange that its a bit sad if it happens
Was never proper Lotus, just a rebranding exercise to exploit the name. No double chassis, ground-effect or wings on stilts or stressed engine mountings to show the innovative side the original lotus had, so just a shadow of the original outfit
It's a shame Mclaren have produced a crap car this year for him as i was looking forward to seeing what he could do. Hope McLaren give him another year like they did with Kovi.
Interesting that Mercedes are willing to give Massa a go in DTM. Did not think it would necessarily be his kind of thing, but the fact that he is considering it perhaps suggests that his options have narrowed in F1 already? http://www.espn.co.uk/f1/motorsport/story/126861.html
He's better than the pay drivers in F1 but if the fact that he's "considering" DTM means Hulk can get into a Lotus or even a McLaren then I won't shed a tear at F1 losing Massa, nice chap but nice wins you sum total of phuck all in F1
Ralf Schumacher and Coulthard both did alright for Mercedes. They seem to have a habit of giving DTM seats to ageing F1 former WDC contenders. Presumably for development purposes. EDIT: Autosport reckon (I can't access the article because I've already read 20 this month) that Heikki is an option to return for Caterham next year.
Yep, Fernandes has now confirmed that he would ideally want Heikki in one of the seats next year. http://grandprix247.com/2013/09/24/caterham-boss-says-van-der-garde-possible-for-2014-race-seat/
Next year is kind of do or die for Caterham to get closer to the midfield, it would probably help them to have him in the car for development purposes (they can always run someone else in first practice). It does come down to money though. If either of the drivers is going to go you have to think it would be Pic.
