as it says on the tin and if it's other then who? after what I have heard today I would go for Murat Yakin its a risk, the bloke has not managed in the English game and has spent his career so far in the Swiss League BUT he has worked his way up and is now at FC Basel. His side beat Chelsea last week with Mourinho coming out and saying Basel played two lines of 4 which they never do in the Swiss league and that shows this guy is not stubborn and only has a plan A. To me it seems as though he is flexible depending on his opponents. Got FC Basel to the Europa League Semi Final last season and this guy with Bally as part of his backroom team would be obv. a risk but one worth the club taking
I honestly couldnt chose a manager as any of those could either turn out great or fail miserably, I really think picking a manager is absolute total luck, very hard to get it right. Pulis sounds like a bad choice on paper but given a shot he could turn out brilliantly so whoever gets it will get my full support, I would never show my disappointment in hiring a new manager until after we have seen them in action as egg on your face could very well happen.
I just hope that Short puts a bit more thought into this choice..it's a last chance to stay up in my opinion. I certainly wouldn't want to have to make the decision. I just dont know enough !! I'm wary of poyet from the few bits of comments I've seen, he seems a PDC only slightly less erratic. Ball may work out, but ! Pulis no no no, please !.. zola and matteo wont come.. so who is there, yakin ..who is he ??? Oh dear, I feel a panic coming over me !!
Gone for Rene cos of his association with SAF, doesn't make him a good manager but he must have learned something along the way.
I'm going other, with my choice being Ole Gunnar Solskjær, but I don't think he'll come. Of the other ones listed, I'd not be unhappy with Poyet or Meulensteen. I know very little of Yakin so can't say on him. I'd not fancy Zola, Matteao, or especially Pullis, and the same for McCleish/McClaren etc. I'd have said a couple of days ago that it was too early, and too big a jump to pick our own Kev Ball. However, he put out a good choice of team the other night, and he clearly has the support of the players. He's come out and said he's interested. I don't know, maybe ! I'd love it to work out with him, but hate it to go wrong. Tough choice for Ellis.
i wouldnt mind poyet to be honest. i think pdc had the right idea with what he was trying to do he just ****ed up putting it in place. if poyet learns those lessons then he could do a good job. i would much rather the squad wanted to play for the manager rather than were in fear of him and as long as he comes in with a better approach then pdc he could be really good for us
I wouldn't be surprised if Poyet is confirmed over the next couple of days although he wont be in charge for Sunday. Probably a sit in the stand and watch job like Keane did. Just a hunch.
i think he's nailed on for the job. he's been insunderland since tuesday and seems to really want the job. i liked the way he played brighton and as long as he can learn from pdc dimise he should do a good job
So we know, so far, poyet, ball, mclaren & yakin have had interviews and muelesteen is supposedly next
Mclaren was here on monday, seen at the roker hotel, fact Poyet was here tuesday, spouting off to anyone who'll listen Bally said he was speaking with ellis yesterday Yakin was interviewed today Muerensteen is here now apparently, interview the morn
**** me mine must be monday then. I wouldn't,t have said any of them last year but yeah I did say poyet before di canio. I just want someone to stabilise the club.
i would take poyet over grant any day. i think its too soon for bally, i dont think his first shot at manageing the first team should be under the circumstances we are in at the moment. i would hate to see his legacy dented by a situation that is not of his own making
