    Good news !

According to the latest weather charts, this period of settled weather is set to continue until the
    end of next week.

Temperatures could be touching 20c again by next Thurs/Friday.

Seriously? Summer, it's been fun, but I'm now ready for cooler days and nights, the tree's to turn to red, amber, gold and yellow. Darker mornings, and evenings. Rain, snow, frost.

Summer, you've had your fun, now fook off and we'll see you next year.

What can I say? I'm a winter person. I know you like the sun, and I've always assumed you use veg oil as sun screen, but give me the winter anytime.

Winter sucks. It lasts years at a time, makes you feel like hibernating, every morning is emotionally painful trying to get up when it's still pitch black and it costs a bomb in heating.

Enjoy summer but I love the melancholic English winter, dark nights, football with a chill in the air, steam rising from the crowd, hearty English meals, warm pubs, the build up to Christmas, the road to Wembley, watching the tele and thinking 'bout your holidays, thats entertainment........

Brilliant misty mornings, hereabouts. Loads of good (and weird) fungi appearing. Stacks of good fruit and nuts on bushes and trees.
...and I've managed a bit of log-splitting and gardening, which has been impossible for 4-5 months, due to illness.

    Good stuff! <ok>
