Along side Arsenal, this is my favourite fixture of the season. However, I think it'll be a dull draw on Saturday!

I remember the last time you tanned our hides, razzed up all over a tube seat after.

With the squad we've got now the concept of a 'best XI' is not very helpful IMHO.

We've got options everywhere on the park and we ought to pick a team based on the opposition strengths and weaknesses as well as those of our own players. As it happens I think Dawson would be effective against the current Chelsea attack, but if we were playing Man U say and expecting Rooney and Van Persie to be in their team I'd go for Kaboul.

I think Chelsea are very strong in attacking midfield and much weaker in defensive midfield so I'd probably go with Sandro, Paulinho and Erikson as our midfield trio. and I'd have Lamela ahead of Townsend on the right for this one as I think Lamela's extra skill and thought will work better than Townsend's pace against Ashley Cole.

A fair reaction to that performance! Watched the game in a pub and found myself bizarrely relaxed about it.
The girl that I was watching it with was extremely accurate when she said, "This is far too easy. What the hell's going on?!"
We did our best to give you a chance at the end, but it was one of the worst Chelsea performances that I can remember from recent seasons.
    Repeat on Saturday, please.

Man Utd beat City with virtually the last kick of the game in the early kick-off that day and it seemed to damage Chelsea's concentration badly.
Playing Ferreira against Bale for the first half was a hideous mistake, too. Ripped to bits.

To be fair there are so many teams above Man U that this will happen most weeks....

I think we're talking about a different game mate <laugh>. I'm on about when you thumped us 5-1 about 10 years ago!

    That'll do nicely, too! <laugh>
That was a weird one. Total slaughter until Forsell came on, who seemed to be the only one who wanted it.
Somehow managed to lose four other games to you that season, including two 4-0s after that win, which was the 2nd leg of a League Cup game.

<laugh> I watched that one in a pub in Brighton full of Chelsea fans. We three Spurs fans enjoyed that evening.

The defender who has been most "found out" by this high line is Vertonghen, not Dawson.

    Tottenham v Chelsea (12:45 BST)

Tottenham are going very well and they have only conceded one goal in their first five league games. If they can beat Chelsea, this is a real yardstick for Spurs' season.

Spurs already look stronger than last year - defensively they are very good and have lots of options coming forward.

This is a Chelsea side that is in a little bit of transition - their manager Jose Mourinho is trying to make his point to one or two of the players about what he wants from them.

But the Blues have a good record against Spurs and I don't see them losing this one.

Mourinho has an over-abundance of attacking midfield players but I think his bigger problem is that he needs at least one of Fernando Torres, Demba Ba and Sammy Eto'o to emerge as his first-choice striker.

At the moment, none of them are looking like the front man he needs and the loan of Romelu Lukaku to Everton looks a strange decision.

    Prediction: Tottenham Hotspur 1-1 Chelsea

Lawro has Spurs in 3rd place on 13 points, one point behind Arsenal & Manchester City on 14...

I would have thought you'd see us as the bigger game.

Chelsea and Arsenal fans seem to be quite chummy compared to Chelsea and Spurs fans, or is that just on this site?

Obviously Arsenal have been more your competition for the last 10 years or so, but I always gathered Chelsea fans hate Spurs much more...

We are looking much stronger than last season because imo we don't have individuals instead we have a team. VdV and Bale were individuals within a team whereas now it's a team and that's why we are doing ok. I think we'll win this one.

if we win, it does send out a statement of intent, yet how many times have said that over the years? quite a few, to then lose the game and slowly fall away.

This is why im not expecting a win, as it wouldnt be Tottenham to win this game in style, its just not what we do.......unless its the cup, as we tend to lose the big games when everything seems to be going well.

Although am really looking forward to this game, and the Tottenham v Chelsea derby is probably the most intense game outside the NLD.

Spurs away is the one... Was there at the Lane last season and it was mental. Atmosphere was incredible and I fell down 3 rows when Mata made it 3-2!

It will be different this year. Can see it being 1-1. And I'd take that. I can't be there which is a huge shame as Spurs v Chelsea is a brilliant rivalry and derby... Really looking forward to this one.
