Philip Buckingham ‏@PJBuckingham 3m Paul McShane has also trained today but SB suggested it's a choice between Faye & Alex Bruce to replace James Chester. Too soon for McShane Don't know what happened to Figueroa starting at CB and Rosie continuing at LB, which would have been my choice! Pray for Faye!!!!
I thought this was going to be Phil Daniels saying people should stop living in the past and just accept their middle agedness.
To be honest I really dont fancy Faye in the Prem either but if he was going to play a game then this wouldnt be a bad one for him.
Whats A.Bruce done wrong? He's not done anything outstanding but he's a steady CB who will certainly put a foot in. He played well on Tuesday night too.
If Figueroa were available I'd move him to centre-half and play The Dudgebomb. Otherwise it has to be Faye. For the love of God please don't play Junior...
You mean like all those game we lost in the Championship when he started? I don't get it. I like Faye as much as anyone, but he came to us when he did because he wasn't good enough for the PL. I still think he can do a job but he's not the player he mades out to be by some. Ideally we'd replace both of them, but as that's not likely for a little while, either will do.
A bit too early for Dudgeon. He needs game time, but he should get it with the reserves. I'd play Figueroa at CB with Davies and play Rosie and Elmo as Left and Right Backs.
He doesn't have to do anything wrong. He's **** because he's Alex Bruce it seems. He and Faye both played well the other night. Neither are as good as Chester or Davies but both are reliable centre halves. Faye is better on the ball and stronger in the air so I would prefer him to play against West Ham but if an opposing player is running at goal I'd rather see Bruce up against him than Faye who is a bit dodgy in those situations sometimes. He also has the African trait of making crazy decisions now and then such as calmly taking players on in his own penalty area and trying to intercept every pass that comes into his man rather than holding his position goal side of the attacker. Anyway my point here is they both have relative strengths and weaknesses and neither of them are terrible.
He played well against a reserve Huddersfield Town team, not a midtable Premier League team like West Ham. There's a massive difference.
If Bruce plays CB I'd like Rosie to right sided with Fig left just to sure it up. I dread the idea of Bruce and Elmo on the right of defence. I'd push Elmo up (unfortunately at the expense of Quinn, unless Brady isn't fit for the game?)
