Morning STH, morning all from a dark but very muggy Weston-super-Mare!

Have a good day, or night in STH's case! ;)

Morning all, bright and sunny here this morning. Yesterday the temperature reached 34°C and expected to be similar this afternoon. <cool>

Wedding Anniversary today, rather a long time now. Along with a few of the bits and pieces that ladies like, I have bought Mme a new handle for her spade. All I have to do now is fit it and she will be well pleased. ;)

Hope that all well with BB and his op. Should be up and doing a light version of the Gay Gordans I reckon. :emoticon-0169-dance:emoticon-0169-dance

Very nice too. I've always loved the idea of serving up toad in the hole to someone from France or Southern Europe and seeing their reaction <laugh>

The big news here is a cat has escaped from an airplane at Reykjavík airport. The cat was being taken by the owner from Danmörk to USA with an over night stop in Ísland. The cat was left in the airplane with the door open and it did what cats do, went out. The cat is now an illegal immigrant and there is a ÍSK100000 reward for its return to the owner. Ísland forbids any animal coming into the country unless there is quarantine for it.

We have 4C and wet. Not rain but wet.

Happy anniversary, Frenchie. Last birthday Mrs H bought me a t-shirt with four candles on the front. Occasionally when I wear it some one gets the reference and smiles...

Not for that one. The owner should be fined a lot and sent away and the cat caught and executed. We might have a horrid animal desease here now

... might just be easier to ignore the cat and execute the owner?

Afternoon all from abright & sunny West West London - as predicted, rather hanging this morning. That Estrella can really screw up your next day!

But a great week-end coming up...Mrs W_Y and Little Miss W_Y are heading up norf for a hen week-end and #2 son is in Germany at a motocross event with his mates...so I am left to my own devices..so a few early doors beers on Friday before cooking up the big fat Veal Chop I have hiding in the freezer..saturday, I am on for a seat in the corporate at The Vic, so no doubt a bottle or 2 of Fleurie will be consumed! Then Saturday night I might pop over to a gig in Bedford...better spend Sunday recovering and doing a few chores!

Congrats OFH from me too. Comfort food, loverly, have not had this for a while which has given me an idea.

Presume Mme wanted a spade and that you won't find it wrapped around your head? <bubbly>

Did they not tell the cat that Island is not in the EU where there are no illegal immigrants? <whistle>

Yes hope BB is recovering from his op but I fear it will be a long haul as knee replacements are sore and take time I am told. No gay Gordons for a while, hang in there BB.

Went to see Joe Bonammassa earlier this week. Wow powerfull stuff, Marshalls turned up to 11+ and sound was crystal clear. Drummer had a kit to die for and subtle was not his strong point. Some nice acknowledgements in the playing to some fine bands of yore. Recommended if you like loud, heavy, American blues rock. Only criticism perhaps is that it lacked a bit our soul. :headbang:

The cat is not covered by human asylum laws and all animal imports outside the law are prohibited, even ice bears. People who are not legally in Ísland(Íslendingar, tourists and legally allowed workers) are collected and then sent back to where they came from, if they can not prove they are a real refugee.

Thanks for the best wishes. The toad in the hole was superb made with real meaty French sausages seasoned with herbs. All washed down with a decent wine from the Rhone.

Mme is very pleased with her shovel. When the snow comes next year I will be able to get her out in the cold to clear it. ;)

A year ago I managed 100 metres up a very steep slope on crutches to get to the florist for some flowers for the anniversary. The lady in the shop remembered and thought that I was not in quite such a distressed state as I had been then. She does very well from the English as she told one of her French customers. Mothers Day is a different date here to the UK, but the ex-pats go in for both days. She thinks that we are a bunch of romantics at heart, and couldn't imagine the local males being so thoughtful.

You mentioning toad in the hole made me want it Frenchie. So we are having that or roast pork depending on what time Dad makes it home from work.

I thought the french were known for romance lol. If they cant be romantic what hope do the rest of us have.

    Happy anniversary to you both.
