chill guys, lets be honest here ,going out of the cup would enhance our chances of euro glory , its not possible to compete in 4 competitions , more so mentally than anything else , our players are good at many things but a lot of them are not mentally tough enough to give 100% in 4 different competitions ,cant say I blame them, coc cup been there done that ! if we lose im good with it if we come back and win then im good with that too, all eyes pointing to arsenal for me
Wow you turn away for a second and Birmingham is up 3-0! What´s going on? I guess we can conclude that the team doesn't have the depth that we thought they had.
Quite right, with 10 changes a defeat was always likely, our squad isn't big enough to compete on 4 fronts and we certainly don't need to accumulate a huge fixture list
..and give credit to Birmingham who are a solid Championship side. There was no way they were going to leave us sweep over them tonight. At the end of the day we weren't cynical in front of goal in the first half - and we've paid a heavy price. Whats the odds on 4-3.........
I must add that no matter what fuff the players give they pretty much decide the agenda on things like this, if they wanted to progress they would have put in the required effort. just like last season when we won the cup and got safe, the players took the soft option and tossed it off the rest of the season, that's why they play for Swansea not man utd, they can do the same things with the ball but they don't have the same level of mental strength IMO .
A good way to learn more about the players - who will play in games against lesser competition, and those who might want to play but don't have the ability or legs.
I think that some of these players are fine slotting in with the majority of the first team but collectively they are too much like a reserve team. Not the end of the world, League and Europe are the focus. I imagine we will also play a weaker team in the FA cup too.
