And that pass is exactly what RVW has been praying for since he joined us! Hopefully now HE might get one fed through to him on Sunday.
Just seen it on Sky Sports News too, with a goal like that he definitely should feature against Stoke, Fer was brilliant as well though, Hooper and Fer are going to be amazing together. CH needs to develop that.
Let's hope that kicks off the season big time. Coming back from the dead - something we thought we'd forgotten how to do. Very disappointed about some of the posters on here, though, who seem to have an almost visceral hatred of those of us who have shown opinions different from their own. I don't know why they want to make our discussions so acrimonious. Some of them seemed more interested in burning us sceptics at the stake than actually celebrating the club's victory.
Well played tonight guys. You gave us a real challenge and we ran you damned close! If it werent for the fact we played several reserve players who were not match fit, it could have been very different. But I take nothing away from Norwich, you did play well. It was a fantastic match for the neutral and neither team deserved to lose.
That through ball from Fer is exactly what we have been lacking during 2013. Let's hope for more of that. If we can either go wide (as for the second goal) or play through (like the winner), it makes us so much more difficult to defend against. Plus Hooper looks the works. And we showed real spirit to come back from the dead. For the first time in a long time, I'm feeling hopeful.
Oh for Heaven's sake, get over yourself! How many times do we have to hear this crap? If you want to moan about the team, then go ahead, you're in good company at present. Others will have the opposite view, that's all it is as far as I can see. Overjoyed with the comeback, let's kick on from here.
Here is a picture of the 'headbutt' incident from behind the goal. It would appear the ref got it very wrong!!
Possibly. Still very difficult to say, and the ref appears to be facing the other way in the picture so you can't really blame him eh? Personally I (and probably the rest of the Norwich fans) didn't have a clue what had happened sitting down the other end of the ground!
who is that from our side, Fer? given it was what 116 mins on the clock, can't see how it (had our player seen red) would have affected the result
i've not seen the incident - in fact, i hadn't even heard about it until now! it all depends if our player 'motioned' a headbutt. he obviously didn't properly nutt him or i'd have heard about it by now and it looks as though both players are 'rutting' a bit. its down to intent which is deemed by most officials to be the 'forward motion' - how can you possibly tell on a still photograph? our player (i assume it's fer) is clearly taller and has bent his neck a bit but that's not indicative of intent to headbutt. don't like to see that sort of thing though - all a bit immature and unnecessary
Basically all we could see from the away end was that Watford won a corner, then suddenly pretty much all the players starting getting involved in shoving each other. Then there was someone on the floor as the ref and both assistants came in to try and restore order. A couple of players from both sides were booked.
What I dot understand is how the lino missed it. It's his sole purpose for being on the pitch but after confers the ref booked Pudil. I'm bemused. But I take nothing away from Norwich, it was a thrilling match. From what I saw it looked like contact, and knowing the player I can say he wouldn't go down unless there was.
with all due respect, i said that about one of our players once - marc tierney - and a year later he produced the most ridiculous dive ever when a bolton player brushed his forehead. from the photo - the only thing i have to go by - it looks like something out of nothing
Chris Goreham mentioned in the course of commenting on the ref during the game that he had only issued 4 yellow cards so far in all the games he had officiated at. Maybe he is the sort of ref a lot of us are constantly wishing for, who takes the view it's a game for red-blooded adults and passion has its place (up to a point).
on the subject of referees, does anyone else think the general standard has been a little better so far this season? of course there has still been mistakes - there always will be - but i think it has improved ever so slightly, letting games flow a bit more, not dishing out cards for next to nothing and also playing more advantages, bringing it back if no advantage is taken. edit. i realise i have probably cursed our game at stoke now! apologies
Steve Bruce: Early League Cup ties "like watching paint dry" http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24237956 Clearly Brucey hasn't been watching our games!
On referees I have noticed they tend to have stopped giving pens for an unavoidable ball to hand. Apart from at the weekend of course.
