Wow! This has moved quickly, cheers TLR. @ByrneBarry tweeted 15 mins ago that he'd read a lot of tweets coming out of Italy indicating that this could be happing. Definitely worth a follow for anyone who hasn't yet!
View attachment 26520 great goal scoring record at the start of his career but not playing many games per season since.
He partnered Adebayor at Seville I think earlier in his career; maybe they're the two mystery strikers TF spoke about??!!
What's wrong with Hitchcock? He's proved he can score (albeit a tap in) at this level, why not give him a run in the team?
a 3month contract with the club, confirmed ok lads tell me about because i don't know f all about him, hope its good.
Don't know, can't remember who the last player to come through the ranks and hold down a permanent 1st team place?
I would be interested to know how & why this lad has just popped up and confirmed as signed under radar. No doubt he's a top top player
EXCLUSIVE: CHEVANTON CHECKS IN PUBLISHED 15:02 25th September 2013 by @OfficialQPR Uruguayan striker signs short-term contract in W12 ... URUGUAYAN striker Javier Chevanton has signed a short-term contract at Loftus Road. The experienced front-man – a free agent following his release from Italian side Lecce at the end of last season – has been training with the R’s in recent weeks and has now put pen to paper on a three month deal. Chevanton, 33, has won 22 caps for his country, scoring seven goals. R’s boss Harry Redknapp told www.qpr.co.uk: “With the injuries we’ve had to Bobby and AJ, we’re really short of options in that department. “Javier has spent time with us and integrated into the group very well. “He arrives with a good pedigree and gives us a much-needed extra option in attack.” Chevanton, whose contract runs until December 24th, said: “I am very happy to be here, working with a good manager like Harry Redknapp, for a team which is currently top of the Championship with huge ambitions to return to the Premier League. “I am really looking forward to the challenge of playing in England. I have scored goals all around Europe and I am confident I can continue that record with QPR. “When I was younger, I loved watching English football. The atmosphere here is great and when the chance came to join QPR, it was all I wanted. “I have a great will-to-win and I can’t wait to do my best for the club and fall in love with the fans.” The deal is subject to the player receiving international clearance.
