As I've threatened to do earlier, I've booked myself a plane ticket ---> train ticket with the multipurpose of going to Swansea to see the Swansea vs. Sundeland game on the 19th of October. FFS has kindly offered to supply me with a ticket. From here on I can only get too Little advice on Swansea topics: I arrive (I suppose) in the afternoon on the 17th and you'll be relieved to know I'm going back to Copenhagen a few days later too... To begin with I need info on a place to crash (litterally). I have romantic ideas of b&b's ---> some housewife in with a huge hairdo reassembling a certain mrs. Bucket, apron and slippers constantly offering me tea (I'm a coffee person). I certainly hope one or two of you Guys will be interested in joining me for a beer or two during my stay, or even might interested in showing me around the place. I do have a interest in history and culture, and in spite of my hairstyle I can act as an adult (as long as I don't have to do it permanently). I do have my doubts if I like rissoles, so I'll have to try some I suppose...
Mikra, great to see you finally getting to a game at The Liberty. I'm sure some of the boys will only be too glad to meet up. I bet FFS, Dilli & PGF will be up for a drink. You need to make sure you pop over to Rossi's right by the stadium and have one of Swansea's finest rissoles.
He's travelling from Denmark, fair play I think some of you should make the effort. I'm sure someone sensible like FFS can arrange a drink say on the Friday night before the game. Why don't you all meet up at the Harvester, get pissed and try and sneak in the Liberty
Mikra, if you are coming over you will need a crash course in Swansea. Have you seen Twin Town yet? It was filmed a few years ago but still rings true and a must see as preperation. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=FYBY3t8rixw&desktop_uri=/watch?v=FYBY3t8rixw With just a few lines remembered from that movie and your love of the Super Swans you will be fully prepared for any eventuallity/encounter. The two historical museums are literally right next to each other... http://swanseamuseum.wordpress.com/ http://www.museumwales.ac.uk/en/swansea/ from that culture you stroll across the road to a different culture altogether WIND STREET. The lonely planet guide is pretty good for things to do. http://www.lonelyplanet.com/wales/s...rtawe/entertainment-nightlife/bar/wind-street My must do would be....visit the Gower especially 3 Cliffs and Rhossili (with its Viking links) and call into Mumbles on the way back for a pint or two an Joe's ice cream
Mikra that's awesome! sorry I wont be there on that date but I think you will enjoy little old Swansea (as long as you go to the right places) just think of Swnsea as Copenhagen but a little bit smaller and without the culture ,sexy ladies, fine dining and chilled out blues bars ! it is as Dylan Thomas said "a lovely ugly town" it is beauty and the beast orl for want of a better phrase black and white ! The people are awesome though, you will imo struggle to find a more friendly place than Swansea, mrs Norway never quite got over how friendly people were when she studied there and she holds it very close to her heart, almost fierce in her protection of the area and its people in conversation !being that she is a classic Bergen girl that's really saying something ! as Bergen of course is the capital of the world according to them ! lol Nothing beats my home town no matter what, it has plenty of wrinkles and is rough around the edges but there is something organic and very real and genuine about the place and people, its why the Cardiff lot are so jealous of us all
Anyway ,BAD news and a VERY p'd off Never, I've just been informed that I'm going to miss the Southampton game.
Mikra is a very nice bloke, knows his football inside out and talks nothing but total sense, from what ive seen of dilli and his crew they could learn a lot from our Danish friend!... he looked after me well in Copenhagen and im sure our Jacks on here will do the same
