From Sports Direct news " Robbie Pringle 24th September 2013 5:18pm BST Queens Park Rangers and Fulham have joined the race to sign SC Heerenveen striker Alfred Finnbogason, SportsDirect News can reveal. The Iceland international joined the Dutch club last summer and has been in fantastic goalscoring form ever since moving to the Abe Lenstra Stadium. The 24-year-old scored 24 Eredivise goals in 33 games last term and has started the current campaign with nine strikes in just six league matches. Cardiff City reportedly were making attempts to sign the forward over the summer and Newcastle United will allegedly make a move for his signature in January. A source close to the player has now revealed QPR and Fulham are both looking to bring Finnbogason to England. QPR are expected to make a bid for the prolific frontman when the January transfer window opens but the Championship club should expect competition from the Cottagers who are also keeping tabs on the Iceland international. I love it when things like this come out of nowhere - cheers me up and reminds me things are happening behind the scenes! Only hope that other small team don't get there first.
Can we not get him on loan now with a view to purchasing him outright in the winter window? Makes sense to me.
Agree... does anyone know what the situation might be in the Dutch league re: loans - if he is in their squad he might not be available yet. We need a new Icelandic hero!
I really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really dislike Fulham.
