Further to yesterdays thread re clubs we hate,I personally can't stand other British teams who wear an all-white strip when playing at home,e.g.Swansea & Spurs(in europe). For me this is one of the things that give mighty Leeds United its aura. Don decided to change our colours to all white copying the great Real Madrid team of the time & to give us a unique identity amongst British clubs. Lesser clubs like Swansea & Spurs will never be as mighty as Leeds United & Real,so stop copying our kit.
Theres numourous teams that wear white, its a popular colour. I find it funny how all of the elite sides in the country wear red or blue, how original ooooooooh but theres Donny and Barnsley
To be fair, Swansea usually have a white shirt with black shorts and Tottenham have navy blue shorts so it's not quite the same. But it does annoy me when clubs like Bolton, Preston and Bury refer to their fans as the Whites, that's us! Thank God the Don changed our colours though, no colour quite compares to the pure shining white when it's a big game under the floodlights at Elland Road and the teams line up to face each other. There's no colour I'd rather change to.
Agree. I am the only one who sees a wonderful symmetry between white=good, red=evil? (not to mention "their" nickname).
