    I can only see a loss here. With the amount of injuries we have Pardew's definitely going to put out a second string team.

    I bet Pardew is thinking I'm never going to be sacked for a poor cup run but could be if we do badly in the league so I'm going to maximize my changes in the league. I don't think we'll see the first team play in a cup competition unless we somehow reach the quarter finals.

    This, 100%. With cheap tickets, a half-empty stadium and the only prize being the Europa League we didn't like in the first place, I think this ranks below U-18 friendlies in terms of priorities.

    I hope we do put out a 2nd string. At the very least we sould not be risking Colo, Mbiwa, Remy or HBA as we have no back up of PL quality. The league has to be the priority, and our squad needs to be nurtured through the season given its lack of depth.

    We barely have a 2nd string. <laugh> I think it'll be a good game regardless. Some useful players in your frontline with McCormack, Varney, Diouf. A game we should win but I must I couldn't really care. At least not enough to risk key players.

    It's a strange one really, I'm sure given the choice we'd rather have 3 points against Millwall on Saturday and you lot would rather win your next league game. Still, should be a good atmosphere
