Aye up!!! Defeats are coming thick n fast now, somebody put the brakes on..... Must admit, Burley have a half decent side, are well organised, and have half a shout at promotion. They just go about their business quietly without a fuss. For a side like that, which are run on a shoestring budget, attracting only a third of the gate receipts that we get, how do they manage it??? Two defeats in a week obviously is not good BUT could this be a blessing in disguise?? Josh reports this morning that we may be signing Rowe today, and a striker by the weekend. Now that Hall has joined the Blades on loan, maybe that has freed up some money, or maybe another one of our players is about to go out on loan, thoughts??? Smith reckons he deserves a starting slot v Newcastle!!!! Thoughs
Morning all. Like most I suspect, I'm not a happy camper this morning. One thing is clear, quality new faces are needed quickly or this season will be a write off by end of October. We can't continue to use the excuse after every game that the team that beat us will be promotion contenders. I think that has now been said about all our opponents this year except Sheffield wednesday
Morning all. The number of chances we created against Burnley suggested we should have won at a canter. Not sure quite why we didn't. That said, with both Byram and Warnock back for either Wednesday, Saturday or both, we should be a bit stronger. I just want to know what BMD thinks is his best side and how he's going to fit Diouf, Ross, Murphy, and Varney all into the same team given who else he likes to pick. For me, the current best side would be: Usual back 5 including Paddy Warnock on the right, Varney in the centre, Diouf on the left Poleon one side, Varney the other, and Ross through the centre. What do people think? Should Smith be the target man up front, or would we end up playing too much hoofball?
I listened to the game on the radio and the commentators both said Burnley were the better side and deserved to win. We seemed to have a couple of ten minute patches. Maybe someone who was at the game might enlighten us later
Morning, Just read on SSN app that Ishmael Miller is being shown the exit at Forrest. I'm wondering whether he might be worth a shout? Looking at his stats, he has never really been prolific (due to lack of game time, injuries?), but maybe he would be cheap and BMD could get the best out of him? He used to play for Man City, West Brom and would bring some experience with him. Also, seen that QPR and Brighton are after Spurs young striker, Harry Kane. Heard he's meant to be pretty good. Maybe he'd be worth a shout? Hopefully we can compete with QPR for a signing!
I didn't report we might be signing Rowe today... I heard it on here on the weekend, think Glory Hunter said it
Josh. Glad Diouff is back in the fold. Could it be worth resting McCormack to gain the bit of sharpness over next few games. Think he has started every game so far???
And Harry Kane is very poor, even for a youngster. Not seen him have a good game to be honest. yea, Elland I'd say so. We should rest a few to be honest, its still a meaningless game so we should play Mowatt and Smith, maybe give White another game to save Warnock for the weekend
Morning listening on talk sport this morning neil warnock talking about the sacking of de canio and the way Sunderland have played said to get the best out of your players you have to play them in their best position !!!! So why the hell didn't you do it at leeds?
Already thinking about the Millwall game. Think we'll win, and worth a punt. Skybet have us both at 8/5 to win, and 9/4 the draw. So for those that don 't bet, what that means is, if you invest £100 in a Leeds win, you get £160 back. Equally, you could invest £100 in a Millwall win, and get nowt back, but with the possibility of being compulsorily sectioned under the Mental Health Acts .
Yep I did. Hopefully our defeat on Saturday didn't scare him off. If he was to believe ****y (sorry mighty) Peterborough might be replacing us in this division next year.
I was afraid that my prediction would come true, and it did. Sean Dyche is an excellent manager with good tactical nouse and man management skills. He's done a brilliant job with no money and deserves plaudits. I rate him as much as BMD but just wondering why on paper we have a better side yet Burnbley are 2nd in the league? One of the reasons is that we don't create enough chances and when we do create our conversion rate is woefull. Please put Ross up front as we may get the odd goal, but we need to add some quality, and we've all known this since the season started. 2 defeats at home is crap - fortress my arse
It's no secret that our home form needs to improve. Seems the team have switched off for a few games at vital moments. Maybe we have been riding our luck for a while, although at the same time I can't help but feel we should be sat here with 4 points more than we've got.
McCormack isn't good enough to play the position he is tbh The only person to take any credit out of the weekend was Tonge Rest wa ****e. Kenny was pathetic all day
Not sure I entirely agree MTMB. Murphy made some telling 60 yd passes. Diouf seemed to do okay considering he hasn't played in the first team for ages. Also worth remembering that we created soo many chances, its just a pity we couldn't finish more of them off.
We created a lot of chances, not many actually troubled them tho its okay Murphy pinging balls 60 yard but when he can't pass it 6 to his team mates whats the point
If we do get someone in then they need to be proven, no "worth a shouts" or "gambles" we have enough draining the wages who hardly ever feature. Any player we do sign (if) needs to be able to walk into this team (shouldn't be too hard).
