F**king disappointing defeat. The scoreline did not lie. The manner of that defeat was the most difficult aspect to take. Whilst the City boys seemed to be really up for it, ours seemed to have remained in the dressing room. The only saving grace if we are looking for one is that it was early in the season and Moyes has the time to sort these out. If he doesn't, then we are in for a bumpy ride. I was and am ready for a tough time (knowing what happened after Busby) so this has not entirely come as a shock. We all need to calm down and give Moyes time..
I just can't see where the goals will regularly come from should you lose vpersie for any prolonged period, moyes will get time I'm sure, bar you being 10th at Xmas then maybe the pressure will come to a head and he will be sacked. if you lose heavily to us on weds it could be a media frenzy .
Won't happen mate It is one thing getting turned over at the Etihad by a powerful team but quite another being done at OT by the scousers. The media frenzy wil be expected. Rodgers won't be without pressure too if he loses...
stranger things have happened before in football, never say never. slight difference between the pressure Rodgers and moyes will face should there be a defeat eitherway, another bad performance for moyes and the media will be out with pitch forks etc it's gonna be a very interesting season all round anyways me thinks. do you think moyes can keep the job if you drop out of top 4 ? unlikely I know but even with fergies backing you think he would be kept on?
We'll see. We have had these big statements from the club about how they recognise replacing the best football manager ever is going to be difficult and that his replacement would need time. let's see whether they keep to their word... I expect the media to come out in force so that would not be surprising. And the new younger fans too might be impatient. It is about trusting him to come good in the future...And he would need support. The farce recently together with Woodward didn't help. I hope the likes of Moyes and Woodward recognise (what I have been saying in the summer) that trying to save a couple of millions here and there will come to bite them in the ass.
mmmm, not sure if the OP is being deliverately ironic, but he kind of has a point. I have never, ever seen you so categorically destroyed in such an incredibly easy manner as that game yesterday, The only comparable game was the 1-0 title decider a few years ago, with 2 key differences: 1. It was a title decider and therefore 0-0 would have been an amazing result for you 2. In a team set up to contain and defend, you actually defended. I didn't see the game live, but from the highlights, snap shots and every report going this game was a darnsight worse for you that the 6-1: losing 3 freak goals when chasing a lost cause with 10 men and having only been 3-1 down with 7 minutes to go was, just that, a freak. The most terrifying thing for the rest of the league yesterday was that by the sounds of it, and do tell me if i am wrong, 4-0 flattered you at the 50 minute mark. Then City basically stopped. Bets on what the score would have been otherwise? Very, very, very early days and only a halfwit would write man utd off in september. But its not looking good for you at the moment and a lot of rebuilding to do!
Trouble for Utd is that Rooney looks like he wants out, RVP's injury is a reminder of how fragile he can be and your midfield is still lacking a creative player. Take away the Fergie factor too and Utd suddenly look very average indeed.
