They didn't give us many clear chances, we had to make everything for ourselves. They had some good chances too so I do feel it was harsh on them, especially since we got lucky with Lloris early on.
I think I read somewhere (a newspaper maybe) that since our series of goals against in the last few minutes at the start of last year, we have actually become the best at it in the league. I can't verify that though.
Erik, how quaint, a poster from another team coming on to the Spurs board and telling us what will happen. We've done so well recently that I'd forgotten others existed. Thank you for your prediction.
Rubbish! There can never be enough creativity in a team like Spurs. The more the merrier, I say. Also, we have so many players who can score goals, now, from all over the park, that finding the net will not be a problem, once the team has settled as a squad.
"They didn't give us many clear chances, we had to make everything for ourselves." Reckon we could have done a bit better with the other 11 chances we had on target. The pattern today is going to repeat in many away games this season. We need to get in front to force the home team to get done on the counter.
We'll settle quicker with Lamela starting. I posted that he'd tear through this Cardiff team and there he was to set it up. FFS andre, drop Townsend and play Coco. Stick with Bobby Sol, it WILL come right for him.
100% agree. When we don't have 3 in 6 days it would be good to have Defoe as an option though. And occasional starter
Really annoys me when players do this, it's as bad as diving in my view, trying to dupe the officials.
FFS, I make one polite comment that's slightly negative and it's as if I've shot AVB in the head. I'd like to see Spurs do well, I just think another striker is needed for you to be serious challengers All I meant was that chances created need finishing, and as good as your new creative players are they're not natural finishers in the same way that, say, Soldado is Can everyone calm the **** down now?
Really good performance against a spirited, but limited opposition - much like last Saturday.... Some decent performances - notably Daws and Eriksen and was really impressed by Holtby when he came on. Maybe only 10 minutes but he livened things up and made space where there hadn't been previously. Lloris worries me more than a national captain should do...... He has been lucky on a few occasions so far this season and needs to look more settled. But 3 points and no goals conceded again is a good day at the office and a good start to a busy week.
I thought Dembele played better today. Less sidey-sidey and backwards passing and more impetus. Hopefully AVB's had a word.
No Erik, you've read me wrongly, you're entitled to your opinion and I said thank you for your prediction. You calm down sir.
Agree with pretty much all you said but I don't think we ever had a chance where we were odds on to score and even when it did look like we'd score, their 'keeper was there with an outstanding save. I just don't think that makes them undeserving of a draw.
Lloris wasn't done any favours by Calamity Naughton for the first error - they probably would've scored if he hadn't taken the risk. Giving away that corner wasn't great but he made some very good decisions too.
