Off day? Just seen the City v United score should've watched that <laugh>

We knew we're not going up this season, but a lot of these other sides now have real quality.

I never said you can't Criticise..........and if we play well we won't lose every game or get relegated...

I agree with you on that Hampy, again we create more chance than the opposition, we limit them to only 3 shots on target, all this for me points to our main area of concern as up front. As for the last goal, that was mainly down to us chasing the game

Sounded like we were very unlucky today, I strangely feel more optimistic after that performance than the midweek one at Yeovil. Sounded like we played some really good stuff and were pretty fluid going forwards and actually created some proper clear cut chances.

Also pleased to see for the first time this season Mick seemed to go for it a bit more with his subs, with Taylor coming on and Wordsworth, think these 2 could potentially add another level to our game.

We certainly need more quality in our team but sounded like a good performance today from an honest set of players, so we've just got to be realistic, fingers crossed but I don't think we'll be in a relegation fight this season and we've had some very hard fixtures over the past month or so. The only slight concern is that even though on paper we've had hard games, the teams who have beaten us have looked pretty average.

Surely soon Lee will be in there instead of Nouble. I find it hard that Mick keeps faith with a player like Nouble who has continuously underperformed and done nothing yet a player like JET he ships out and criticises. I'd rather have JET than Nouble even if he was considered lazy or inconsistent at least when he came on he created something.

I agree, todays performance does give me cause for optimism, we were on top for large parts of the game etc.

We do need a decent partner up front with Didsy though, I don't think we have him at the club already so MM must dip into the loan market.

One thing does get my goat though, JET, MM was clearly forced to off load JET by ME, so can we stop holding this against MM, he clearly had no choice in the matter.

Taylor needs to play so he can be the one in the box to finish off the chances created. Nouble can go out on loan though.

Have to say I'm not sure I buy that about JET, I don't think ME has a say in footballing matters apart from the budget. If Mick wanted to keep JET I think he would've done but he wasn't his cup of tea so he offloaded him. I think that was a partnership which was doomed from the start really!!!

Yeah need a partner for McGoldrick, Lee in his prime would've been ideal. Think we need a penalty box striker but if we get one of those I think we'd lack a bit of height upfront and I think in a Mick team this would be unwise, it's a tough one because clearly McGoldrick is our best striker but he doesn't overly suit being in a Mick team. Coventry got the best out of him playing him behind the main frontman who I believe was McSheffery (small) but they played proper tippy tappy football, so could get away with it.

Not entirely sure that's Taylors game. He's similar to McGoldrick in that most of the work he does it outside the box, he's a second striker. Don't think I'd like to see him out on loan, think we need him. Not too bothered about Nouble mind, he looks very poor. Not sure about bringing anyone in on loan though, I think see how we get on until January and then look at bringing someone in permanently then, no doubt we need another striker.

A loan until January could help us keep ticking over though.
I'd start Taylor up front with Didsy on Saturday.

This has cheered me up a bit. Nice post.

I still haven’t given up on Nouble, though – he’s the sort of player that’s a couple of aspects of his game of being a total monster. Having said that, his age, previous clubs/coaches and what we’ve seen so far here might suggest we’re on to a loser.

We’ve all seen before how a player can look garbage due to one or two important deficiencies in then suddenly get it right. We’ve offloaded JET (for whatever reason) who was similar. We just have to trust MM/TC.

Fromthestands here. Well like I said 2 good goals from Ryan Shotton and Nick Powell but the best player on the day was scott Carson who pulled of some fantastic saves. But I would just like to say I hope you have a good rest of the season

Westy - it's Gerkin. <ok>

Gherkins are what McDonalds put in their burgers to disguise the taste of sawdust. <laugh>

DJ Campbell seems to be available yet again....

I think we need to bring someone in, but I would actually rather us persist with who we've got than bring in a short term replacement as I wouldn't want to see us spend any money to keep DJ here on a permanent deal.

If we can't do a loan with a view to a permanent then I think we'll stick with what we've got.. and no one stands out as a viable option of who we can bring in and then keep past January

Have to say that the midfield also seems to be pretty toothless in front of goal, still think we are about 5 players short from having a decent side.
I see Derby are looking to sign Albrighton on loan from Villa, when i have seen him i have been impressed, wouldn't mind us trying to hijack that one!! Would also like to see Lee alongside Didsy rather than Murphy.
Not sure MM thinks we need any more and got a feeling he will stick with what we have, grrrrrrr!!!

Actually Hawkings...it was me calling him Gherkin...knowingly and intentionally as that was how felt about the man's mistake! He was a prize one at that!
