Thanks so much for the kind comments guys. They're making me shed more tears but I guess that's just part of the grieving process. Bloody Hell I am so glad we had that amazing day on May 4th this year now!

Does anyone know if they still do memorial plaques at the KC and how we could go about arranging one? I noticed them a year or two back but haven't looked much recently. We're thinking of getting him one in the West Stand concourse.

    Please accept my condolences Didsbury.
Any dad or mam on here will tell you a good relationship with your kids is priceless and it sounds like you and your dad definitely had that.

I did a plaque for my brother and it cost £50 (although might be more now), if you contact Ann Holland she will send you a form and arrange it all for you!
her contact details are on this link.....

Treasure your memories , they will be of great comfort to you.

I bought a "Brick" when they built the KC with my Grandads name on it , he never lived to see them in the top flight.

    RIP DT Snr

My deepest sympathy to you and your family Didsbury. You have written an excellent and thoughtful tribute which puts things into perspective for all of us. At least the Tigers came up with a result and performance yesterday that no doubt would have made your Dad proud.

Fooking hell, Dids, you and Strov just made me well up.

So sorry for your loss, sounds like you had a good relationship and you can always treasure that, and pass it on to the next generation.

Now I need to go cut up some onions before the missus sees me.

I think that's when it really hit me. Not being able to talk to my Dad about the win and particularly Aluko's wonder-goal has floored me and brought the reality of it home.

I know the feeling mate. My Grandad was the one who introduced me to supporting City in the late 90s and he passed away in 2003 just before the Swansea night game at the KC. Not having him there to celebrate such a great result was heart breaking. Best wishes to you and your family at this sad time.

So sorry to hear that your Dad had passed on Didsbury. It was only a few weeks ago that I had replied to your post telling us about his illness, and wishing him a good recovery so he could get back to watching City games. Thanks for your beautiful tribute. Watching Hull City in the Premiership was a dream come true for us old fellas who never honestly thought it would happen in our lifetimes. I was lucky enough to be at Wembley that unforgettable day when the dream was realized.

After a narrow escape in July I do treasure every day I have to be with my kids and grandkids and of course watch the best Tigers team in our history. But I know time is running out and one day I'll be joining your dear Dad to share a few beers and exchange stories about Raich and Waggy.

May he rest in peace and free from his pain. My sincere condolences mate.
