Blue and yellow are the City's colours, which is why they appear on the KC.

It's quite simple really - we are going to protest against changes made to our identity by wearing scarves that are in changed colours!

Akin to fighting for peace or f***ing for chastity!

Absolutely spot on. The desperation to put down the efforts of those protesting at every opportunity is pathetic.

The same people were defending West Yorkshire Police's actions back in March. It's as if they just need to be contrary.

Obi keeps posting these threads trying to explain what's going on, keep us informed, etc. and they keep being ruined with people just taking the piss out of his attempts. This one seems to have been revived in the last page or so thankfully.

To be fair, Lamby, you do drop one or ten hints about how rich you are on a daily basis <laugh>

I said the other day that HappyTiger might well be the most ******ed person ever to use the internet. Never did I think he'd be forced to relinquish his title just three days later. If people only want to watch Premier League football, then there are (and always have been) 20+ Premier League teams to choose from. It's only 2 hours to Manchester or Liverpool, after all. It says a lot about Hull if this pathetic football club that you clearly have little respect for is its biggest respect-earner. You really don't understand football at all. Success isn't the be-all-and-end-all. 6,500 Luton fans who turn up to watch their team in the Conference each week don't do so because they won the League Cup 25-years ago, do they. Stockport have never won anything - in fact I don't think they've ever been in the top-flight - and despite that fact, plus the drawback of competing with the likes of Man City and Man United for support, they sold the best part of 1,000 away tickets for a game at Stalybridge in the regional leagues on Saturday. That having won one of eight previous Division Six matches after a third relegation in four seasons in 2012/2013.

I’m trying hard not to keep telling myself that this is Allam’s spat with the council spilling over into ‘fans only’ territory. The one alternative I can think of where he only comes across a ******, as opposed to a ****** and a ****, is that he wishes to provide a successful football club for 20,000 plastics. I.e. His ‘Hull Tigers’ will be entertaining a particular demographic of Hullensian each week, of the kind who treat each game in the same way as they would a trip to the theatre or the ballet. This as opposed to keeping HCAFC as a properly run football club, whose actions are dictated primarily by the few-thousand to whom the club means most, the few-thousand who are there whatever the weather and without any concern for the quality of the football they’re paying to see. My idea fits; he’s admitted he knows nothing about football, so I’m probably right in saying a trip to the KC is the same for him as a trip to, say, Cineworld (not that he attends Cineworld much). He also sees the 20,000 Sky-boys coming in each week with their prawn sandwiches and their little shoulder-bags, and thinks he’s doing right by the city. In short, he thinks he’s committing the lesser of two evils in sacrificing the lifelong love of 5,000 REAL fans for the temporary pleasure of 20,000 fickle ****s and arseholes. He isn’t.

Plastik Tubby, looking at your overall contribution here, this board will be better off once you **** off from it.

If anyone else offered a ten pound bet, they wouldn't be accused of claiming they were rich ffs.

I'm not rich, I haven't even paid myself for the past year.

I just hate all of the idealogist nonsense that gets posted.

The one and only way to stop the team name changing is by adopting a business like approach.

He regards us as mere football fans who know nothing about business.
We must show him that whilst as individuals we do not have his personal wealth, we have the business acumen to show him that there is in fact more money to be made by retaining the full name of the team, than by any change.

My marketing experience is relatively small. I have little knowledge of the far eastern market place, but the contact that I have had, has always wanted British names. Tradional sounding named, British made products have a premium in China. I would bet that Accrington Stanley, would be a more popular name than Hull Tigers, but I cannot prove it.
My suggestion is that there must be a large element of foreign students based in Hull. A survey of them with a choice of names and with their country being identified would have more impact than any protest. After all this is the target market for Assem and it is sitting here on our door step. Lets use it to show that he has got it wrong.

    But he's ignoring that too.

He's in regular contact with Dave Kilburn at MKM, who's also extremely successful, but he's not swayed by his thoughts.
