I think we have to give credit to Southampton and and move on. We've had a very good start to the season and need to pick ourselves up from this and get back to winning games. It doesn't matter how we have won games we have the points and need to get back to winning ways straight away. The fact that so many are ready to kick us after our first loss is proof of how well we've done.
Very much agree with Luv here. We have that first loss out of the way now, Southampton deserved it but 10 points out of 15 is still a great foundation to build on. We now have Suarez coming back which most importantly will take some of the pressure off Sturridge. We've been very unlucky with injuries so far, let's not forget Danny isn't even fully fit. Add to that Coutinho, Cissokho, Johnson, Agger, Toure who have all missed games already this season, and we've done well to get in to the position we're in now. I wouldn't say this is a harsh reality, because I haven't seen one person saying we're title challengers, and most of us know where we are as a squad and that fourth will be a very tough ask, so we'll dust ourselves off and use the United game as a perfect opportunity to redeem ourselves. Could of been a lot worse that is for sure! And we won't be there by the end of the day, but still top of the table
Can only beat who is put in front of you. Besides, though not the toughest set of fixtures they were by no means easy. Stoke have proven to be a tough test for most sides in the past few years, we played Aston Villa on the back of them beating Arsenal and troubling Chelsea, then we came up against the league champions, and of course Swansea away.
True but the champions had a real stinker and there was no other top 6 sides amongst them. These are still to come.
Psychologically I couldn't disagree more. Part of the reason that we have not achieved more is this blind observance of the logic that we have to build slowly and that slow and steady improvement is the best policy. Hence even what should be considered as being the minimum (4th spot) is now thought,by some to be a stretch for us. The squad we have has not been able to display it's full potential dues to injury and suspensions. However, there have been indications in the first 4 matches that, at their best, they are more than a match for any side in the league. Therefore, I believe that it should reinforce the belief that we can do a lot of damage at the top of this table and thereby achieve 4th spot. Therefore, with the caveat that we don't know all of the ins and outs regarding the squad, it appeared a strange decision to pick 4CB's when playing at home. Let all of our opponents worry about how they are going to achieve their objectives. Let's go out in the knowledge that if we play we can win - against anybody. Let them worry about us. Part of that has to be an adoption by the whole squad of that child-like Suarez attitude that the game's there to be won - so win it!
But the fact remains that we beat you. Our results against the other sides is down to us. You really should be worrying about your own sides results.

When our central midfield fails to dominate and control a game against Soton and at home, then I'd be concerned. At least with last season, they were able to dominate the smaller teams at home. Now they can't even do that. I would like to experiment with Allen and Henderson as our CM partnership against Man Utd. They might not be better than Lucas and Gerrard as individual talents but I think they are a better fit for Rodgers's style.
I agree. And while being deadly serious here, I say give Allen a game in CM alongside either Gerrard or Lucas.
It was my eldest daughter's birthday on Saturday and I had to meet her and the other daughter at 3 pm. I didn't see any of it. I called a mate about half way through the second half. He was watching it with his lad in a pub in Liverpool. He said we didn't look remotely like scoring. When I heard the score, I didn't bother watching MOTD. Can anyone tell me in a nutshell, what the **** went wrong?
Started with 4 CB's > midfield outclassed > goal conceded from set piece > Mignolet great saves, again > took Agger/Skrtel off > Moses looked good again,Aspas didn't > oh, and we lost !!!!
Can't you ****ing read or something? My daughters rank as more important than anything in my life, including LFC
