I think it was a mistake by BR to go out so defensively, we have been starting games wanting to score quickly and the holding on, which although not brilliant was working! His last 2 games I think he has got tactically wrong. Saying that we miss ford so much when he's gone, it's almost like we are a different team, we desperately need some more creativity from midfield. On the positive side saurez is nearly back, I think a lot of us saw this result coming, we were always going to drop some points with him away just amazing how well we have done without him. Everton proved last week that the smaller sides of he PL can occationally topple one of the big clubs. Now we just have to pick our selves up and win the next three games, we are still most definitely in the mix.
Just got in and seen the result, then I looked at the team we put out... why did we play with 4 CB's??
Can tell we lost today. We've got Saints (understandable), Mancs, Swans and Bitters (well, just the one ) on here...
"****ing embarrassing to have lost at home to a nothing club like Southampton. I would've tolerated if it was away." Coutinho's Through Ball, what a pompous arse you are.
And I'm sure that he really appreciates your interest in what he had to say. After all he is entitled to his opinion and he didn't call you any names
So you speak for someone else, you spout platitudes and who said he called anyone names? What exactly did you post for?
Why didn't Gerrard use his left foot to clear the ball? Instead of trying to go outside of his right and put it up into the net
To point out to you that you don't have to be offensive. CTB did not call either your team or any of your supporters any names but YOU felt it necessary to do so so. Why?
very very unacceptable result. 1-0 loss at home ffs. I dont know what the deal with the 4 cb's was but why the **** did he just not stick with Enrique and Johnson at full back. Why fix something that isnt broken? BR better not pull this crap again
I know we weren't great at the back but I don't think Johnson would have been any better given he's on crutches
It appears to be a very strange decision to play 4CB's. I would have liked some sort of rationale for it from Rodgers
Well,it has to be said once again well played Southampton. Last season at St. Marys we were well beaten on the day. This game was a tighter affair but overall I think they deserved the three points, again impressed by their interplay in midfield especially. Pochettino has really got them playing some very good football and they will certainly finish higher than last season.I would say maybe even push for top half. We were poor today, but Saints have to take some credit for that.We always seemed to be being shut down with little space to attack, whereas they seemed to have more space in midfield to set up attacks.Oh well, never mind. This could be a helpful kick up the ass in the long run.Early days and were still well positioned. Just a word on the keepers today, thought they were both excellent. Ref was poor, linesman worse.
Despite the obvious crap team selection, I'm worried with our consistently poor performances this season. Bar the first half against stoke, we have been sh!t.
