That's Man Utd, one of the biggest teams in the world, regardless of whether you like them or not. We are Hull City, who only ourselves can remember some of our great players who were in fact ****e, but great to us. People need to know why we would be wearing a different coloured scarf to what the team play in.
Also why blue & white? As has been said, many teams wear blue, we would need a colour that few if any teams play in. I still think black as it is used to symbolise death, as far as I'm aware no other team plays in black & on the writing, could be written RIP Hull City AFC. Or whatever.
As for this money being donated I thought it would be to go towards something like the production of scarves or tshirts.

A hoodie or sweatshirt in black with amber writing with "No to Hull Tigers" or something like that would be good. If there is enough money to buy a number of them they can be sold for around £12 each. Our athletic club have recently purchased some plain ones then we have a company putting the 3 crowns and KUHAC on them. There would be a small profit to go back into the fund and then people can order them possibly through the supporters club or some other set up. I would buy one.

The money will help us campaign to keep our name.

I expect there will be a full accounting for the money raised and what its spent on.

    Hahahahah

Why don't you just shred it, stick it in a liquidiser and the drink it. Then you can piss it up the wall, which is what's going to happen with the money anyway, but at least you'll think you've got something out of it.

Whether you are passionately against, in favour of or ambivalent against the name change, surely any sane person realises that having a banner, some cheap ass home printed tops or a load of fluffy pink bobble hats and blue scarfs is going to make **** all difference to what Papa A thinks!

Can I wear my Hull Vikings scarf?

The Viking face looks remarkably like Stephen Quinn (if you squint).

Apart from Quinn doesn't (to the best of my knowledge) wear a Vikings helmet with horns,

    Or have a beard.

Or ever appeared for Hull Vikings.

There's some right soppy ****s on here.

The donations are for thousands of 'No To Hull Tigers' badges, that will be distributed free to those who support the campaign.

Those who have no interest in the heritage of our club and are simply happy to post snide remarks on a message board, are free to donate nothing.

Well said. Some of these proposals/protests are just plain ludicrous. The thing that really gets my goat is this talk of "our heritage". I've been a supporter for 65 years, probably well before most of these "heritage" types were born. Everybody in those days referred to our team as "The Tigers". Raich Carter and his boys ran out onto the BP pitch to the sound of the "Tiger Rag"..."wheres that Tiger, where's that Tiger" etc etc. My programs from the 40's refer to us as "The Tigers". Nobody said "I'm going to watch Hull City AFC"...either "City" or mostly "The Tigers". I'm sure it was the same pre-war. Little lads in The Well yelled "Cum on you Tigers" as did their cloth capped dads on Bunkers. "The Tigers" are our heritage...NOT Hull City AFC.

So is being pig headed about something. You probably wonder why so many people won't support this because of the "holier than thou" attitude displayed by some.

I can't wait to be offered a badge to see the reaction to my polite "No thanks, I trust our owners and am quite happy about their changes.". I'm guessing it'll be comedy gold, and involve some mouth frothing.

I think you guess wrong. I suspect the reaction will be a stifled yawn, pretty much the same as your posts on the topic draw.

I believe that the protest is futile, as AA is entrenched in his position; the folk around him really ought to grow a pair. That said, I will still donate as I don't think anything like this can be taken lying down.

I was having a pint with a mixed bag of NE mates last night when a Mag (normally a good lad) decided to refer to us as Hull City Tigers and made it known he thought they would take us 4 - 0; I put him straight on the name, in no uncertain terms, and, today, we put him straight on the score - really looking forward to seeing him <whistle>
