Hey, Spurs fan here Just posting on here to ask your opinions about Tom Carroll. As you probably know we rate him not just a bit, but a LOT. Very, very promising player, with a higher ceiling than Townsend I'd say, and he proved that in his several Europa League appearances last season. A lot of Spurs fans wanted him played instead of Scottie Parker and/or Huddlestone last season. From what I've read though, he's been pretty poor for you guys so far. What's your opinion on him? Good luck in the season btw...
Not shone yet according to the guys that have been at the games. A bit lightweight they've said. Hopefully he'll click into gear soon.
To be honest every Spurs fan i speak to REALLY rates him so you can't all be wrong. Just think he needs a little time to settle in.
He's no...... please log in to view this image But hopefully we'll soon be singing his praises...... please log in to view this image
Even against Birmingham you could see he is a very good player. The neanderthals may say too lightweight and not suited to this league, but they would say the same about Modric and Eden Hazard. I hope we play him where he can have most impact, and don't infect him with mediocrity, as we have done with other previously good players over the last couple of years. If we decide to play football he could be priceless, if we sink to the level of this horrible league he will struggle. But Harold should know his strengths and how to use him.
Rubbish, supposed to be our main man creating stuff but only makes 5 yard square passes. Townsend was far, far, far better than anything Carroll has shown.
It's a mixed up midfield at the moment and not sure we have found the right mix. Carroll does look lightweight and is not impressing himself on the game too much yet. I was hoping to see him playing a more forward role in the midfield and he's not managing it. You can see that the skill is there, he needs to be confident and make his mark on games. Look forward to seeing him do that.
For a creator to create chances, he has to have runners looking to make space so if Tom has the vision, which of your players are making runs? Carroll has superb vision and always looks to pass forward, yet if no one in front of him is making movement then of course he will make simple passes to maintain possession.
Hes not willing to try anything that isnt 100% sure of working, Taarabt is way, way better than him. He dominated this league. Carroll has looked totally out of his depth. Id rather one of our youngsters play but that wont happen so he must be behind Kranjcar in the pecking order now.
Hes playing 30 yards away from Austin which doesnt help, I noticed Kranjcar was a lot, lot closer to him when he came on.
Carroll just needs alittle time to get used to the team, and what your saying about him not trying something which isn't 100 percent doesn't fit in with how he performed for us, as he was at times overly ambitious but remember at spurs he had players making lots of movement. Dont write the lad off yet as he isn't showing his full ability yet and that will come with confidence.
I could see something in Townsend and Walker right away, I see nothing in this guy. He might have potential but hes done nothing in any game Ive seen,
Walker and Townsend both had pace, and they are more reliant on their natural speed to make an impact. Carroll is lightweight and has superb vision but needs players making movement and runs as otherwise what can the lad do? make a pass which players are too slow to read? I get why you don't rate him yet but I think you're being a tad harsh.
Mate, pay no attention. We're top of the league yet all Flyer has done from day one is criticize all and sundry. He hasn't a notion.
I think he showed potential against Birmingham, although he was swamped in midfield he was clearly a ball player.
Ok! There are quite a few of us following qpr as Carroll, ekotto, niko and of course redknapp had their fans so heres hoping you get promoted.
