I mentioned this on the match thread but it was ignored due to the arguing. Done his hamstring in. Brucey confirmed it on 'umbersard earlier. http://www.thisishullandeastriding.co.uk/story-19828790-detail/story.html#axzz2fRV7qyJO
That's a big loss but I have a lot of confidence in Faye. Him and Davies will be awesome going up on corners. Also Figueroa should be back for the next game.
Im in 2 minds about this. His game wasn't great in the first half.. but the in second? he was our MOM
Problem with this is Faye has no pace, although do Wet Spam? Is McShane out for long, I know it was hamstring too but was it precautionary that he was out today? I just have a bad feeling that at this rate Alex is going to be in the team.
Given that we've got West Ham next, who will put plenty of crosses into the box, I think our next game will be as good as any to bring Faye back into the team. With the current team news I'd go with: McGregor Davies Faye Figueroa Elmo Livermore Huddlestone Quinn Brady Aluko Graham I thought Elmo was impressive today when he got into more advanced positions, and I think Chester's injury provides an opportunity to move him out of defense into midfield where he's more comfortable. Although Rosenior put in a good shift today to say he was out of position, I feel that he'll be exploited much more against West Ham who like to get the ball out wide to the wingers, who'll take on the man and put the ball into the box. I've been fairly impressed with Boyd as well when he's come off the bench, but I think Quinn will be more suited to the physical battle the West Ham game will bring.
Faye had a run out vs Rotherham reserves as did Bruce Jnr but it's Faye who should play back-up. Quinn's had 2 great games now, so he picks himself IMO. Prossie for Graham yet? when Gedo's fit he's going to take that spot
So two games then. We will certainly miss Chester against Villa, West Ham we can play Faye against their direct style. If Davies has another couple of great games, England will surely be calling, won't it? Same with Thudd and Livermore.
How i wish we never let Jack Hobbs go now. I still feel for Chester covering for Elmo, although Elmo improved hugely in the second half defensively after another error for the first goal. Chester was excellent throughout, we really will miss him.
You just proved my point. It's quality cover that's required. Two of those don't fit that description in the premier league. Not sure we would see figgy in the centre of a back four. Lets hope the old warhorse Faye has one more season in him.
