Agree however I was not daft enough to jump on the bandwagon to think this season will be anything other then a disaster

If Hull are ****ing ****e, what does that make us? I saw Villa fans spouting the same rubbish about us last week. It's also why we'll get Hull fans coming on here rubbing our noses in it.

Yes, this was a game we hoped to win, and given the quality of our players perhaps we ought to have done. But the players didn't perform and then of course we have our tactically inept manager who gets scared ****less if we go into half-time leading. Fair play to Hull, they battled harder and played better in that second half.

The Hull fans seemed a decent bunch, came in great numbers and got behind their team. I don't think they'll come and gloat over winning.

I was at the game like I normally am but come on there were parts that were pleasing but to get beat of a team like hull the way we did against a relegation contendor is a massive loss let's not sugarcoat it

Oh I'm not sugercoating it, it's concerning and terribly disappointing. But I don't see the need to have a dig at Hull. I don't think they'll come over and gloat of their own accord but if they seem comments like that I can understand them doing so.

I'm just disappointed that's all , you get used to it but then as usual the team get a couple of results and of course inevitably expectation's change and you get to thinking ahead of yourself. Like a lot of you here its just incredibly frustrating and I am sick of our massively underperforming team although their maybe alot of high expectation's from me which are probably unjustified I am just sick although I will always support the toon

That's fair enough mate, I understand. Today was the first game in a long time where I actually felt quite confident. Should have known better.

Hull fan here in peace. It was one of those games that was great for the neutral but very tense and nervy for both teams. I think we will see this as a fantastic result whereas to your boys its a minor blip on your road to a European finish. Still think you'll be up there come end of the season as you've a very strong squad. Shouldn't dwell on this result too long as we're competing for different things this season! You could become one of those frustrating teams that will beat your man u's /chelseas and arsenals but then lose to hull and other lower teams. That's just football which is why we love it!

I think you need to calm down bud, Newcastle are a team many clubs hope to beat, on a different day, you may have won. I think you need to lower your expectations, then you won't be disappointed.

    Bottom half of the league.

    11 Newcastle 5 -3 7
    12 Aston Villa 5 0 6
    13 West Brom 5 0 5
    14 West Ham 5 0 5
    15 Cardiff 4 -1 5
    16 Swansea 4 -2 4
    17 Norwich 5 -3 4
    18 Fulham 5 -4 4
    19 Crystal Palace 4 -2 3
    20 Sunderland 5 -8 1

    Things could be worse.

Disappointing as it was. its pointless having a dig at Hull.
At the end of the day, they're in the PL on merit and aren't going to roll over for the likes of us.
We should have shown them more respect instead of thinking it was an easy 3 points.

Fair do's to them, a team that didn't sit back and looked as though they wanted to give it a go no matter what.
They could have folded after we took the early lead but didn't.

Got to say there fans were first class and got behind their team.

As for the winning goal, we can whinge on about our defending, but, it was good goal deserving to win any game.

I thought Hull were actually quite good today. Surprised me, they always looked a threat. That Aluko's a right handful.

Aluko is our best player, he's just been out for 7 months too, plus his contract is up at the end of the year too!

Surprisingly, that is what every pundit has said about us (Hull) following each of our PL matches to date. I don't think it should have come as a surprise. This was a game I felt we could win.

I am utterly sick of having to make excuses and find the positives when NUFC simply don't turn up for games they are expected to win.

At home, 51k crowd, off the back of a great performance and result at Villa – no disrespect to Hull but this should have been as much of a banker as we can expect these days.

Take 3 points today and we're 3rd in the league, joint top on points and more importantly maintaining a winning momentum. In those circumstances you wouldn't wish for a better fixture today.

I was speaking to another football fan who asked who NUFC had today and when I said Hull at SJP he immediately laughed "you should win that"... I thought yeah, we SHOULD.

So I SHOULD have known, it was a nigh on certainty frankly. But that doesn't make it right or ok... Just pathetic.

Losing to Hull at home, with Joe Kinnear looming in the background? It all sounds horribly ominous!
