Not so surprised now perhaps? I've been waiting for Aluko to explode on the big time & now he has.. Note to Erik who wrote "some of our fans are ******s" in response to my comments.. not looking so stupid now I am I??
Great result and performance yesterday. I was a bit worried during the first 20 minutes as they looked in control but after that we grew into the game. Apart from the Remy miss late on, I don't recall Newcastle having a chance in the 2nd half. We looked a shambles when we were relegated but apart from half an hour at Chelsea we have held our own in the top flight. We look like a Premier League side at present and I can't see us holding up the league like many predicted. We don't have the star names but team spirit and hard work counts for a lot. Out of the 3 games so far we could have taken points from we've taken 7 and we'd have been delighted with that 6 weeks ago. Keep it up lads.
Since day 1 he arrived everyone at the club has known it's pronounced "Shawny" and has said it as such. The fans just didn't seem to notice.
Getting the thread back on the match and I think I have to jump to Graham's defence a bit. I hadn't seen any of the match on a stream or otherwise before MotD last night so reading this during the match I thought Graham had done something terrible with his 'sitter' header. Some of the abuse he got was unbelievable. So to watch it I was surprised to see he literally did EVERYTHING right - head it down, get it on target and a decent connection - and instead Krul made something of a wonder save. I thought he'd actually missed when I was reading the comments, nobody mentioned he got it perfectly on target. Some people really are looking to slate the kid at every opportunity
Ive just watched and re-watched it about 15 times and also Graham's movement with a feigned run as Brady is about to turn to cross and then a few back steps to get the space was terrific. He did brilliantly to get into a position where he could get a head on the ball and the put the defender in a position where he couldn't get it. Some people really need to watch what is going on rather than just look at whether he scores or not.
I agree with your sentiment on that chance (and if Krul hadn't got a foot to it a second time it was there to be tapped in). I don't think they showed the chance in the second half where the ball looped over the top from the right and he shinned it to Krul whilst trying to control it about 12 yards out. Similarly his control in the first half when he was effectively one-on-one let him down badly. I think we missed his presence when he went off, Sagbo dropped quite deep and Newcastle then pinned us in our own half for the last 5 minutes (when Remy should have equalised). There was another chance in the first half where it looked to me as though he'd lost his balance trying to shoot on the turn but the commentator said Cabaye had got a block in.
This^^^Grahams playing well,he's great at holding the ball up and bringing others into play. The goals will come.
There was no power on the cross all he could do was head it down which he did. Krul saved it then brilliantly tipped it away from Graham with his foot for a tap in. Sagbo when he came on looked like he did against Rotherham, ponderous not knowing what to do or where to run.
I'm not sure if it's been mentioned as I can't be arsed to go through 20 pages, but how ****ing good was that challenge from Davies in the second half. Absolutely ****ed Cabaye and won the ball as well
Also, some Geordie prat with 3 accounts has neg repped me three times for a simple comment on their board. Bunch of immature ****s.
