Has anyone heard anything about this guy recently. I just remembered this article and wondered if it was a load of crap? http://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/news/around-yorkshire/local-stories/could_this_star_in_the_making_be_saviour_of_hull_city_1_3031794
I've no idea if anything happened, but you can ask him if you like, here's his facebook page(profile pic in a City shirt): https://www.facebook.com/pages/They-Call-Me-Saviour/131121916947557?v=info He's nicknamed Crespo(after Hernan Crespo) and he's playing for FC Kallon in Sierra Leone, along with being in the U20's national team. Here's the trailer for the film he made(complete with clips of Burnsy):
anyone else find it a bid odd to hear so many people from that part of the world saying "Hull City" ?
I can probably get you some clips of some blonde Scandinavian chicks saying the same thing. You would like that wouldn't you?
Pearson does say in the Yorkshire post interview that we would give him a trial but we wouldn't be able to sign him yet because of work permit issues. He would have to play in Belgium for a bit first. Hope we hear more on this in the the near future
Without a work permit I thought you could sign him but not play him? If that's the case then we could sign him and then loan him to a team in Belgium?
I'm not sure. Wouldn't he need a work permit to stay in the country for any reasonable length of time? Maybe you could have an agreement with a Belgian team that he plays for them for a season but then he comes to us after that?
problem is, he may be a talent in the leagues they have over there, but could he do a job in the championship ? i doubt it... if you sent mclean over to the leagues Saviour plays im sure he'd be top scorer too. still we'll never know without a trial.
Why are people getting excited about signing some kid we've never seen play, is it just because someone made a documentary about him? He could be utter ****e for all we know, if he was that hot you'd think he'd have made the national team by now, they're not exactly overflowing with talent. There are currently two of the National team playing in England, one is Albert Jarrett(26), who signed for Lincoln City at the start of last season, in February they shipped him out to Aldershot on loan and at the end of March his contract was cancelled my mutual consent. The other is Ahmed Deen(25), who plays for Hayes & Yeading United. If he can't get in the team, when that's the sort of quality they've got, I'd be a little cautious on this one.
Fair enough, in that case, I think we should definitely go in for Dušan Petronijević. I've never heard of him or seen him play, but he's a 27 year old central midfielder currently plying his trade at FK Borac Čačak, who finished 9th in the Serbian Superliga last season. Serbia are better at football than Sierra Leone and this bloke has one first team cap, he sounds like a safer bet to me.
I'd like to give him a chance, a trial at least. If we could change his life it'd be brilliant, providing he can play football of course.
