The guy is crap imo. Exactly like Walcott and Lennon.... knock and run merchants. Terrible on the ball, just pace is all they have. Why Aspas wasn't played out wide I don't know. Brendan is to blame completely today.
BR needs a ****ing punch in his nuts, what a gift to southampton. Made a complete screw up with the selection. ****ing embarrassing to have lost at home to a nothing club like Southampton. I would've tolerated if it was away. Why the **** would he start with 4 CBs! Boy are we ****ing clueless without Coutinho, I wonder BR realizes what ****up he made missing out on Eriksen who was avaible all season, yet paid close to 7 million on Alberto who was only 3million cheaper.
Di Canio will be sacked this week and whoever play sunderland next at home will bear a backlash because of the new freedom afforded to team, wonder who will that will be?.....
That was poor. Very poor. We were back to just trying to pile on pressure without any idea of true creativity. We did not truly create one single chance. The selection was wrong there was no understanding from start to finish. The penalty would not have made it any better. It's sad because we just made an average side look really good!
Like every fan, of whatever team, I hate seeing my team lose. It is a lot worse however when they could not even be bothered to turn up. Very disappointed in the performance today and in the daft idea of playing 4 centre backs thus losing all forward movement down the flanks and risking the full backs getting into a mess with the ball as Skertyl did leading to their goal. BR please play the game simply with players in their correct position.
Got to defend Theo there. 20 goals last season. Normally very good when presented a chance, but granted his all round game is pish.
Let me start of by saying this is not a knee-jerk reaction to the loss today, just my assessment of our season thus far. This season as a team we had no identity, we no longer seem to be a team who wants to dominate possession, what has happened to our attacking football from last season? Are we a counter attacking team? Are we now a team who focuses on discipline and calculated risks? Every single game since Stoke, a team puts pressure on our back 4 and Mignolet, and we look completely devoid of any ideas. Mark Coutinho, pressure Mignolet and we look a lost team. Our back four don't look at all comfortable on the ball, and let's be honest, despite Lucas and Gerrard being great players, they don't work well together. I hope Suarez coming back will give us the much needed creativity and flair.
Gerrard was **** today... Losing the ball and making no effort to get it back, over hitting passes and still after about 10 years of taking corners can't get it passed the first man. Very disappointed in him today. More disappointing was brendy playing 4 cbs and no full backs wtf we're at home. Onwards and upwards the bitey one is back on tues/weds and we'll beat the mancs in their own backyard
Walcott obviously being the best of the trio, but the second they lose their pace, they are nothing players.
Only just got back so not bene keeping up with what's going on, but why the **** were we playing 4 centre backs?! I can understand Toure going to RB maybe but what has Enrique done to be shafted for Sahko who is a CB, played 1 game and wasn't overly impressive at CB in that game Seems like we missed Coutinho today then. Ah well, the run had to finish at some point, 10 points from 5 games is 2 points a game, now we have Suarez back as well so let's push on
This is baffling. Why play a different system against a team like the Saints? By all means you should respect them but to change your own system is to weaken your own team. When I saw the team sheet I thought it was a gamble against a really tough side...
Walcott doesn't even dribble past anyone. He's like a Lidl version of Ronaldo in that way. People think they dribble past full backs but they rarely do, most of Walcott's running is done off the ball from what I've seen, same with Ronaldo. He's a great finisher and he's good at squaring the ball back for a teammate when he gets in behind the defence on the right, something that looks much easier than it actually is.
Aspas and Alberto can **** off back to Spain - pair of useless twats. Not even close to PL standard... On the upside - Aspas won't get a game from next week when the Red Knight returns... That game showed how bad we are without a creative player, and we only have 2, Suarez and Coutinho.
I think Coutinho is key. It doesn't matter whether he is playing well or not, he links up to play and creates the space for others. Least Suarez is back next week.
Hope you feel the same way after the Mancy Derby. But I was right we were poor. We had no real creative ideas and we let them put on a 4 man press and get away with it continually - which is even worse. Sure the worked hard and put in a really good shift but their results already show that they are not that good.
